Happy Families (iwillrebel)
Chirrut Imwe was pretty happy with his life.
He was a schools counsellor, in twice a week at the local schools, and then he taught yoga and martial arts classes several times a week on top of that. He enjoyed his work, and it made him happy to be able to keep busy, but also to be able to be fairly flexible with his work hours on top of that.
That and no one ever seemed too bothered about his blindness.
He couldn’t remember a time when he’d actually been able to see and so really, it didn’t bother him too much. Of course, there were still times when he wished he could but regardless, there was little could be done about it. He had his ways of compensating for it and he managed just fine.
And of course he had Baze. His wonderful husband. They’d known each other since they were children practically and he could not have imagined his life going any other way. Not to mention their kids. Both adopted, of course, but in his mind they were no less his children. Bodhi, they’d adopted when he was tiny and he’d been with them for a few years now, but Jyn had been more recent. She was still quite little, but seemed to be adjusting well and it made his heart burst whenever he heard her giggle.
As it was, he’d had the afternoon off and so he’d spent the time tidying up whatever he could and pottering around their home. He was banned from kitchen duty on Baze’s orders (and Baze was a considerably better cook anyway so that was no loss) so he hadn’t started on food. Bodhi was staying over at a friends anyway, so it would just be the three of them. He’d just exited the kitchen when he heard the front door open. Ah, they were home.
