Ok ok I KNOW October's over but I had to squeak this last thing out. Just a little comic based off a hilarious comment by @ixtaek on Four's monster picture. Somewhere along the lines I also started to envision Shadow as not just Four's little brother, but his little little brother and the visual has me in stitches (thanks for the comment Ixtaek!)
...This also started me down a whole lore path of Shadow being so new/small that he doesn't have enough goo yet to sustain himself as a slime, so he, like all young slimes, has to piggy-back in the goo of an older slime until he grows big enough to separate (This older slime is usually a parent but can also be a big sibling; thus, Four has become his designated big brother >u<)
I have no explanation for Shadow liking bees other than it seems to fit his vibe XD

Sorry I saw your thing about Tetra just having a gun and I wrote this in a fugue state thank you for the inspiration.
—
“And that, Mr. Daphnes, is why you’ll do exactly what I say.” The villain chortled, one of its many arms pointing a gun directly at its captive’s head. Wind tried to squirm free of the slimy tentacle, even trying to bite it to free himself. The bad guy—Bellum, he’d called himself—had hijacked the field trip bus and seized several members of their class as hostages. But he was most focused on the girl in the seat next to Wind, her sea-green eyes locked on the gun held to her head as the villain negotiated with her father over the phone. Tetra’s tanned skin was unusually pale, chewing her lip and sitting so still she may as well be a statue. Wind’s hand was stuck to his side by the villain’s grip, but he could just barely brush his fingers over Tetra’s hand. She kept it clenched in a fist.
Wind hadn’t told Tetra about his powers—he’s gotten the lecture enough times—but if there was ever a time to be a hero, wasn’t this it? He started calling for a wind, looking for something he could blow into Bellum’s face. A paper sticking out of a backpack, or a tissue, anything to blind the man so he could kick free and take him down. The relative difference in size—but to mention the risks of startling a man holding a gun—didn’t even cross his mind. His eyes settled on the bandana Tetra had around her neck. It was only loosely tied. He could blow it off, straight into Bellum’s face, then take him down.
He pushed the wind a little harder. Already the hair of everyone on the bus was standing up, tossing and twisting. Tetra’s eyes flicked to Wind, to the villain, and to the gun trained on her. Wind tried to keep his face straight as he poured a little more effort in. Bellum didn’t notice, issuing his demands and gesturing as his arms loosened ever so slightly…
The bandana ripped free, swirling in the air in a mini cyclone, slapping into the villain’s face. Bellum screeched his displeasure, tentacle arms scrambling to remove the fabric blinding him. His arms shook, and Wind prepared to spring.
In a blur of blue and gold, hands shot out, seizing the gun and giving a twist that slipped it right out of the monstrous grip. Bellum yanked the fabric free, turning his head just in time to find his own weapon planted firmly between his eyes. A foot slammed down on the encroaching arms, pinning them to the seat.
Wind scrambled up, having tripped in his attack, falling gracelessly to the aisle. Tetra, nose snarled as if she smelled a rotten fish, shoved the gun into the villain’s skull. Bellum squirmed, but the girl only shifted her finger to the trigger, cocking the gun as if she had done this all her life. Her smirk was sharp, a shark smelling blood in the water. Bellum’s eye grew huge.
“No! No no no don’t—“
“Bang!”
The villain recoiled, his limbs flailing in panic, before realizing she had not fired. The soulless fear turned, and he spun, arms shooting forward to seize the girl again—
There was a thud, and the man slumped, a bloom of blood on the back of his head. The bus driver huffed, lowering the tire iron. “You kids ok?”
Tetra picked up her bandana, wrapping the gun in it carefully. “Nice hit, Mr. Linebeck!” She leaned forward. “Is he dead?”
“I don’t think so. I called the cops as soon as he looked away. Just lucky you brats weren’t…” He scowled. “What were you thinking?”
Tetra stuck out her tongue. “That he was hurtin’ Wind, and nobody messes with my crew!”
The driver threw up his hands, removing his belt to bind the villain’s many arms. Tetra sat next to Wind, her sharp grin never fading. If he hadn’t known where to look, he would have missed the flicker of fear and relief.
“You ok?”
She punched his arm, but thought better of it and took his hand, patting it. Her voice dropped to a barely audible murmur. “Lucky that breeze blinded him, huh?”
Wind gave a shaky laugh. “Y-yeah.”
OH MY GOODNESS I AM SCREAMING AT THIS I ADORE IT
THE EMOTION

LINEBECK BEING THEIR BUS DRIVER AAAAABFDSBDHJFDSBJH

Concept: Lady Sneasler never cared for Lord Z. Not like, hatred, but sometimes people just annoy you or you find them boring or uninteresting, and I imagine Pokémon are the same. But when Lord Z is hauling it down the mountain after Emmet is hurt, Lady Sneasler thinks her weird old neighbor up the hill is invading and goes to confront him and teach him a lesson about respecting territory… until she sees he’s carrying a passenger. She realizes the human is hurt and goes to assist. Lord Z snaps at her at first but quickly realizes she can more smoothly carry an injured human down the steep cliffs in her basket than he can while holding them in his paws. So they go down the slope with Emmet together. This is how Ingo finds out there’s a stranger in the Pearl camp and comes to see why his Lady left her home.
After this, Lady Sneasler has an increased appreciation for the Stationmaster. Still thinks he’s a weird old man, but she will bring berries for him while he waits in the camp and occasionally checks on the Zorua kits waiting back around the peak when she’s not patrolling her own territory or handling her own kits.
see the thing is im not sure if lady sneasler. knows. lord zoroark exists? i mean she knows he EXISTS, her noble senses can feel it, but idk if they've ever met what with how reclusive the lord is.
WHICH ALSO MEANS that the entire time sneasler’s been a noble - and that could be a lot of different time periods, and have its own tragic beginnings depending on your hc - she’s known there’s another noble on the mountain who is supposed to be doing her job alongside her, ferrying people down the mountain and keeping them from getting lost and dying. but instead he’s an Old Bastard and she has to go way higher up into the mountains than she’s supposed to bc he won’t do his fucking job. until very recently when all of a sudden he just starts? doing things? like she’s just supposed to... stand aside and pretend that she hasn’t been taking all this responsibility on for decades?
but then their wardens are brothers goddammit they are not being given a choice in whether to get along. figure it the fuck out ingo and emmet say
ALSO MOODY TEEN SNEASLER AND OLD MAN ZOROARK... that mental image is SO funny ghskjshskj h
The slime gang's back again! (Shadow's got a minion army now lol)
@ixtaek thanks so much again for that lovely Four and Shadow story based on the LU Monsters art! I'm still thinking about it today, it was really fun to read and I enjoyed brainstorming the slime brothers' relationship with you! ^u^ Hope you have an awesome Christmas!

I know Halloween is over, but did you think of what monsters the Zeldas might be? I know you said Sun was a gorgon!
...This got longer than expected >u< Reply is under the cut because it's big!

Ooh, that's a tricky question! Well, I already have Sun and Fable figured out at least. (I'm gonna use the popular fan names for the LU Zeldas here but I'll try and clarify them with their Link):
Sun is a gorgon, yes! She has to be careful about not turning people to stone by looking into their eyes, but since Sky is living stone already, her magic doesn't affect him and they are very deeply and sappily in love ^u^ Maybe she has a cool selection of shaded glasses to wear so she can still hang out with her friends. And maybe she knows a counter-stone spell if someone catches her unawares >u< I'm thinking she's the ruler of a sky kingdom in this lore.
I also mentioned briefly that Fable, Legend’s Zelda, is a vampire in the castle next to his! Poor immortal dude needed a long-lasting friend (& maybe more wink wink). She keeps him from losing track of time and going insane, and he does the same for her. She also has incredible decorating skills and has roped Legend into helping her host spectacular holiday parties. Hers and Legend's castles are frequent hang-outs for monster friends, since it can get a bit lonely there.
Dot, Four's Zelda, is also a slime (a pink one!) because I'm having WAY too much fun thinking up slime lore and also because then I can say she's Four's "goofriend," lol. >u< She also loves little Shadow (and he obviously adores her but won't admit it yet) and I think it would be a cute idea if he piggy-backed with Dot a few times, to give Four and his grandpa a break from baby-sitting. Sometimes Four wonders if they'll just get into even more trouble that way, haha. Ooh added thought: maybe she's princess of the slimes! Their region contains humans and non-slime monsters too (example: Vaati's just a crazy scientist human) but the majority of the little kingdom's a bunch of slimes and Minish rats.
Maybe Dawn's a sort of deep-woodland faerie? Because, you know, Hyrule attracts them? >w< It's a little based on how satyrs and sprites tend to go together in Greek myth, only here it's a fairy and deer cryptid, haha. She has a more deer/mouse-like face, very elegant and elf-like, and big, intricate wings like a translucent butterfly. Aurora would likely also be a faerie in this case, either Dawn's older sister or cousin. Both are royalty in the woods, and Hyrule is one of their most trusted forest guardians.
Tetra is the same sea monster species as Wind and Aryll, but maybe a different type, and looks far more fierce and rougher since she's from tougher oceans. Maybe she would look more shark-like? Definitely has sharper teeth and claws and taught Wind and his sister everything they'd need to know about plundering, ha! Knows where the best shipwreck zones are for sure. Maybe she has bioluminescence to represent the pirate's charm she uses with Wind? Maybe a stone set in her forehead or chest... or she just wears one like in the game =)
I thought of a cool one for Dusk, Twilight's Zelda: A haunted puppet! Like a living china doll mixed with Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Maybe she was originally created by an evil king as an heir and completely loyal mouthpiece, but developed her own independence from him once the evil ruler was slain and now runs her kingdom much more fairly. Ooh and maybe she once WAS the real, living princess of the land, but the evil king killed her and trapped her soul in a puppet that he could control better. Yeah I like that. She gets the gothic spooky backstory >=)
Artemis, let's see... y'know what? She should be a ghost too, I like the aesthetic, and given that Warriors had a good long life alongside Artemis, his wife, they can be a ghost couple. While Wars acts as a guiding hand for heroes and knights, Artemis is an elusive spiritual confidant for wise fellow rulers and friends across this spooky Hyrule. I think she'd also have fun with making suits of armor walk around as a prank (or to protect people). Does this make Wars not only a captain but also the prince? Haha maybe (I didn't really think that far through it since originally this was just an art challenge) Even as princess/queen, Artemis is kind and fair to all. She, Wars, and Time (and young Legend maybe???) all knew each other while they were more "alive"/human. (sans Legend who was always a vampire)
Flora I had some trouble with... I didn't really want to make her a zombie like Wild, but she IS a scientist and full of magic... so, maybe some sort of sorceress/necromancer? Ooh maybe she's the one who brought Wild back!!! Perhaps she was trying to find spells that would help the kingdom but nothing was working, until Wild gets KO'd and suddenly she goes almost crazy trying to magic him back, until she awakens her magic and she succeeds! Her appearance has probably changed a bit as well from the magic strain, though she's still sort of in the same age range as Wild. Maybe she looks more haggard, maybe starts to reflect some dragon-like features like scales or claws in some places as an effect from magic overdose, because she used dragon parts in her spells? Idk, she's a hard monster to pin down =) (I wonder if she'd ever figure out how to make Wild look more normal and not so freeze-dried... Wild doesn't mind too much because he thinks it makes him look rad but Flora's determined. She kinda misses her boyfriend being more hugable lol .)
Lullaby, Time's Zelda... Maybe a ninja mummy or something like that? Lullaby could be an ancient warrior who was preserved with magic binding cloths for the task of protecting the crown, perhaps she never was royalty herself, but more akin to what a Sheikah would be. (Maybe even Artemis's sister? Or sister-like friend) Her design was heavily based on Sheik. She is very serious, very intimidating, but loves music! Throughout the years she watches over Artemis's and Warriors's decedents. And likely keeps tabs on Legend, too.
Bonus gal, Malon! She's a proper, fun, fall/country themed witch! The opposite to Flora, Malon is a very experienced and skilled magician, and her vibe is very bright and woodsy (think Radagast the Brown mixed with the vibe of Howl's Moving Caste) She is Time's wife but I'm still, ironically, trying to figure out how that works on a timeline. I'm thinking she either had a backfire spell or curse that turned her into a scarecrow until Time came back as a skeleton many generations later, and they reunited. (Her kids and grandkids passed down her scarecrow form with much mystery and reverence. Maybe Twilight is the current guardian of her scarecrow form when her curse is finally broken?) I like to think that Time's reawakened skeleton curse is like a reverse werewolf, so that for a few days each month, he gets to have his human form for a little while, to Malon's delight.
...Hoo boy I'm going to write a timeline, aren't I? I'm too detail oriented to ignore it... I won't be able to let this go until I do.... asdsdgjdkgjlfkfd this was supposed to be an art challenge asdgadghsfdhkfgjflfg-
