contains: slightly ooc characters, fluff, mentions of mpreg (but like in a haha jokes way)
setting: whenever the fuck you want it to be. (normal one piece)
author's note
a majority wanted it so here it is! please enjoy, its mostly for jokes, but i still think its fun.
Marco the Phoenix | Polo Marco
Immediately glares at the idea of mpreg.
"I don't have a cloaca in my phoenix form, if that's what you're looking so gleeful for. You're not living out your mpreg fantasy, yoi." (worth a shot)
Finds the idea of being an alpha and omega kind of fun in a fictional way but would rather die a virgin than let you impregnate him if he was an omega.
Would read it with you though, and point out medical inaccuracies so often you'd have to kiss him to shut him up
Surgeon of Death | Trafalgar D. Water Law
Disgust at the idea of mpreg but also insane fascination with the genre.
"Men can get pregnant...?? Is it like...?? A cloaca?? Or do they just have a uterus up their ass?"
"How does a knot work exactly. No, no, you started this, tell me how it works—"
Would be interested because he generally finds fictional anatomy fascinating. Don't read it near him though, he'll start rationalising the anatomy of everything and what chemicals are being sent into the brain instead of enjoying the "plot."
Izou
Is it bad if I say he's real interested.
He's not gonna be the biggest fan of it, per se, but he certainly wouldn't mind reading it, especially if he's the alpha.
Would be irritated if you say he'd be an omega, but a lot more accepting if you say he's still a top.
Would read it on his own time too.
Thatch
Get away from this man he's terrified.
"Please don't impregnate me, I have to cook for the crew, I can't throw up at the smell of eggs—"
Not really into the genre, but understands if you are. Finds the idea of a knot kind of terrifying.
Honestly thinks he would be an omega, not because he can't be an alpha, he's just. Look at him, he's an omega.
I am SO SORRY for the two months delay but I really had issues writing this request. I started it over about 7 times... But I am FINALLY content with it. SO here we go !
Scenario 1 : continuously denying others who think they are together
Izo x GN!Reader // Words : 2.3K // Warnings : few swearing (no beta reader).
« Are you two dating?”
The first time someone asked you this question, it was Thatch, during a lunch.
“Why. No?” You were as confused as Izo was. Nothing was going on between you. You were just friends. Thatch didn’t insist. You had no idea what made him think like this…
*
“You’re dating?”
The second time, it was Ace. Izo chocked when the water went down the wrong way. You patted this back as he coughed.
“What the fuck Ace?”
“You’re sharing your bottle with him! You’re never sharing it with me!”
“Because his is empty.”
Ace, short on arguments, shout-talked: “Ok but that’s an indirect kiss!”
Between two coughs, Izo murmured a dumbass to the younger boy. You sighed. An indirect kiss…
*
“Ginjo or daiginjo?” Marco murmured.
“Hm?” You were on food shopping with Thatch. Marco went along you in an alcohol store.
“Izo’s birthday is coming soon. I wanted to offer him sake, but I can’t remember his favourite.”
“Ginjo.” You pointed at the right one on the shelf. “The fruitiest.”
“You know his taste so well.” The first commander gave you a side-eyed glare and smirked. “No wonder you’re his boy/girlfriend.”
“I am not.” You emphasized the not strongly. You just knew his taste because you were the cook’s assistant… You turned back to the wine section. What was the one Thatch used for his boeuf bourguignon again?
*
It went on like this. At least twice or thrice a week, Izo and you had to deny any romance going on between you. You wondered if there was a crewmate that hadn’t ask you yet. Yet, you never changed your words: it was just a friendship.
Izo had not such effect on you.
Sure, you thought he was an interesting man, experienced and talented in plenty of ways. He knew how to talk, how to take care of himself was it for his hair, his make-up, or his clothes. His eyes were captivating, and his voice was charming, of course. But he had no effect on you.
Right?
“(NAME)!” You turned your head to Thatch. “The food will burn. Turn it.”
You quickly answered his command and turned down the fire a bit. You sighed. You never got lost on your thoughts while on cooking duty. The cook knew it as well.
“What’s happening? It’s the third time this week you almost burned a meal. You should ask Marco to check you if you feel unwell.”
“I’m well. I’m not sick.”
From the counter you were working on, you saw Izo and another commander passing by a window. He sent you a smile and a quick hand sign, to which you responded, before going further.
“Not sick but lovesick, hm.”
You gave a snap on Thatch’s hand with your spatula.
“Ow! You shouldn’t hit a commander. Even more, your own division commander.” He said in a teasing tone.
“I am hitting a friend. My division commander friend. I fear no consequences.”
“You should! I feel jealous because you wouldn’t do this to your friend Izo.” You raised the spatula to snap him once more, yet he dodged it this time. You didn’t answer and got back to your task. But Thatch wasn’t having it. He observed your moves, seriousness in his expression for once.
“Stop watching me like this. You have work to do, Commander. Diner time is in an hour.”
“I know you like him.”
“I already told you we are not dating.”
“That’s not what I said. I said you like him.”
“I don’t.”
“What would you do if he kissed you?”
“What?” You stopped what you were doing and turned to him, eyebrows frowned. “What are you talking about now?”
“What would you do if he kissed you? Suddenly. Out of nowhere.”
“I don’t know… Your question is so strange.”
“Ok, then what would you do if I kissed you?”
This time you answered without hesitation. “I’d punch you in the face. Don’t you dare.” Thatch laughed and waved a hand between the two of you, indicating he had no intention to.
“See, that’s my point. You’re doing everything differently whenever it comes to him. I know I won’t convince you about it right now. Just think about it. Next time someone ask you if you’re dating, ask yourself why.”
*
You didn’t plan to pay attention to Thatch’s words.
“You’re so cute like this. You look like lovebirds in their nest- HAHA MISSED!”
Izo sent one of his geta to Ace’s face that went through him. OUCH. The second one got him on the back of his head. It was nighttime. You were sitting on the deck with Izo, his head on yours resting on his shoulder. You were reading, waiting for the sleep to come. It wasn’t something unusual for you.
While Izo got back to his reading, your eyes kept reading the same sentence again and again… You were sat with Izo, resting against him, in your little own world until Ace’s arrival. It was intimate… even more when you think about the other times you would read in the same hammock or alone in the nest. Yet nothing never happened because you were just friends.
“(Name), you’re ok? You haven’t turned your page in a moment.” Izo’s breath on your ear awaken you.
“Y-yeah… I’m falling asleep on my book. I should probably go to sleep right now.”
“Sure. Have a good night, (Name).” You felt your inside warm. Since when Izo’s words made you feel warm?
*
“It’s been months. Can’t you just stop pretend and make it official? Everyone knows already.”
“You know Vista, I never thought about hurting any of you in about 20 years. But right now, I’m contemplating the idea of knocking you out.”
“Try me.”
Occasionally, when Thatch would finish tidying the kitchen early, he would invite a few fellow commanders to have a drink and play cards in the scullery. This time, there were Izo, Vista, Marco, and a sleeping Ace. Izo had won the previous games, and it wasn’t to Vista’s taste. He knew your relation was a good subject to distract the 16th division commander.
“Why don’t you want to tell us about it?”
“Because there is nothing to say beside it’s friendship.”
“Friendship. I’m friend with all of you but I would never read while resting my head on your shoulder.” Vista fluttered exaggeratedly his eyelashes Izo’s way.
“Lucky us, you would crush our shoulder under your weight.” Marco said and Izo added sneakily: “Do you even know how to read?”
Everyone still heard him and laughed. It earned him a punch in the arm from Vista.
“We know they’re special for you. Just ask them out already. Everyone’s on your asses because it’s clear as water you’ve been made for each other.” Vista added to his point, this time seriously; yet never forgetting his intention to distract Izo.
“Sure.”
“I can prove my point: they’re the only one you shared your reading with, they’re the only one you sleep with, the only one you shared your bottle with-Ace was right about it” At the call of his name, the young man woke up with a card glued on his cheek. “-Hell, they’re the only one that can touch your hair and keep their hand. You let them brush it for you, I saw it!”
“And so what? How does any of this prove I have romantic feelings for (Name)?” Izo sighed, looking at a mute Vista.
“What would you do if Marco tried to kiss you?”
Marco sent a side-eye to Thatch meaning why me. But he knew Thatch chose him because he was one of the longest friends Izo had and that he wasn’t annoyed with him at the moment, like he was with Vista.
“I would push him back or step backwards, something like this. But I don’t see your point.”
“What would you do if (Name) tried to kiss you?” Everyone’s gaze went from Izo to Thatch to Izo again. It was the first time the black-haired man was left speechless about that subject.
“You don’t know? Or you know but don’t want to say it?”
Izo gritted his teeth and looked down. He slammed his cards on the table, his game visible, and left the room without another word.
Izo had a winning game.
*
“So you wouldn’t kiss me. I’m disappointed.” A little smile showed on Izo’s red lips when he recognised Marco’s voice. The blond man came to his side and imitated his position, crossed arms resting on the railing.
“I’m sorry I left like this.”
“Don’t be. Vista was so preoccupied to confuse you that he got lost on his own and I won thanks to your desertion. And… They’ll get over it. They’re big boys.” Izo just hummed for an answer. “You know… Vista’s idea to ask them out isn’t that bad. I mean, you initially got closer to them because you were interested in them, right?” Marco watched Izo sighed and nodded. “Then what stopped you?”
“We’re friends. That’s what.”
“If by that you mean that you’re scared they don’t see you as more than a friend then let me tell you something: I haven’t been so captivated by a dawning romance since Oden and Toki.”
“It was 25 years ago.”
“That’s my point, Izo. For months I got to see the two of you sharing moments and looks. You know that most of our men don’t care about romance and yet you passionate them.” Izo shut his eyes and sighed once again. “To be honest I may be a bit guilty for everything. The first time Thatch asked you if you were dating it was because I give him the idea.” Izo looked at Marco with his eyebrows frowned. “You were there talking and whenever one of you was looking around, one had such a tender gaze for the other… It was physically hurting to witness your obliviousness. I thought it would give a little push… But you kept stated you were just friends and you stopped making moves their way. I’m sorry, Izo.”
Izo shook his head. “Don’t be.” He had drunk and processed Marco’s every words. He could have been mad, but he wasn’t at all. His friend wanted to help after all. And it gave him hope and strength he’d lost in the last months. He was about to go but Marco caught him.
“One last thing.”
*
Izo knew you were asleep when he left Marco. So, he waited until the early hours of the day when you would come in the kitchen to prepare the breakfast. You were always beginning the preparation by yourself.
When he entered, you had just started cutting bread.
“You knew it was Ginjo.”
You almost cut yourself and turned around to see Izo. He apologized for the scare.
“The Ginjo? Your favourite sake. What about it?”
“Marco told me you helped him choose it for my birthday gift.”
“Hm, right. He didn’t remember. I did. You know it’s my job as the cook assistant.”
“Yet, you couldn’t remember the usual wine Thatch was using for his beef recipe. That’s what Marco said.”
You frowned, wondering where the conversation was going. He had come closer to you during your small talk, and you could see his tired features. He hadn’t sleep much, if at all, but he mostly looked tensed, unsure, and decided. You left your duty aside to give him your full attention.
“Thatch asked me what I would do if Marco tried to kiss me. I told him I would push him away.” You were even more confused, and at the same time, you remembered Thatch asking you a similar question. “He also asked what I would do if you tried to kiss me.”
Since he didn’t continue, you asked “What did you answer?”
“Actually, I didn’t answer… But I had plenty of images in my mind I couldn’t describe.”
Considering his choice of words, Izo started apologising about it sounded perverted, unappropriated according to him. But you cut him short.
“He asked me too. He asked me what I would do if you ever tried to kiss me.” You read in Izo’s eyes his desire to know more. “I said I don’t know. But now I do.” You looked down, feeling your skin suddenly burning under Izo’s intense gaze. “I… I would let you do it. I would kiss you back.”
You felt his fingers brush under your chin and gently pull it up so you could watch the sweetness in his eyes. His pupils moved on your whole face, between your eyes to your lips, looking for permission and any sign of doubt or refusal on your part. But the fact you grabbed his cloth to pull him down and closer comforted him in his previous action. Your lips touched, smoothly, lightly the first time. More forcefully and strongly on the second as each of you grabbed the other by the neck. A thrill ran through your body when you sensed his warm tongue brushed your lips in the kiss.
Izo pecked you once more before he broke the kisses. He didn’t pull back thought. His hand on your neck fell to your hips to keep you close to him.
*
“Izo, I wanted to apologise for yesterday. And, I won’t tease you about your relationship with (Name) anymore.”
“Thanks, I appreciate. Even thought it won’t be necessary.” Vista frowned at Izo’s answer.
Izo and Vista were already almost done with their breakfast when you joined them and sat right next to Izo as per usual. You exchanged a look and smiled timidly. Ace that was passing by behind you stopped when he saw this.
“Ow, you’re definitely the cutest couple!”
“Thanks, Ace.” You answered him happily while Izo laughed at Ace and Vista’s lost faces. Things promised to be interesting.
Look, I know I am supposed to be writing Spooktober things now, but I couldn't really let this pass without at least a little writing. So without any further ado, enjoy a little celebratory blurb for the one true love of my life, Izo!
2nd person. GN reader. Modern AU
It was a beautiful fall day: the leaves on the trees had been turning all shades of crimson, orange and yellow, and the temperatures had lowered from the scorching summer heat to something more pleasant, without being actually cold. Fall had officially started, and you were absolutely enjoying the atmosphere.
You were home alone for now, making use of the time you had to yourself to warm up the oven and get to baking. For fall, pumpkin spice everything seemed like the obvious choice- but not today. Today you had an entirely different mission: bake your boyfriend a cake. You had found a recipe online that was beginner-friendly yet ambitious: two layers and a cream frosting, soft pink details and strawberries. They were out of season now, but you knew how much Izo loved them, and you wouldn’t spare any effort for his birthday.
You’d been a little sad to be hearing he’d still be working today, as you had hoped he’d maybe take the day off for his birthday, but he’s never made a big deal out of it.
“When you’re my age, y/n, it truly doesn’t matter much anymore. It’s just another day. But, if you’d like, we can go out to dinner, the two of us?”
You had -of course- agreed, but since you were home anyway, you had decided that you wanted to surprise him as well. After all, he made such an effort of surprising and pampering you throughout the year, with little thoughtful gifts, flowers to make your house an even more beautiful place, takeout of your favorite meals whenever you were too tired to cook…
So you had gone out, purchased all the ingredients for a cake (and some more, just in case something went wrong), his favorite flowers, and put those in a vase on the table. You had made a card with a handwritten love letter earlier, and had now put it next to the vase and a little box that was neatly wrapped with a rose gold paper. Inside was a watch you had seen him eye a couple times before, but never purchasing it, because he felt like it was too expensive for a watch, especially since he still had one that was working perfectly fine still.
The oven signaled that it was done preheating, and you practically jumped from the sound, already confused how time was flying by so fast; you had barely set the table with gifts and hadn’t even started measuring and weighing the ingredients. You let the oven sit like that for now and got to quickly prepping the ingredients. Once preparations were over, it didn’t take too long for you to actually do the recipe. You made sure to follow the recipe to the letter, knowing that baking was more of a precision job than cooking usually was.
When the cake was finally in the oven, you cleaned up the counter and prepared the frosting. After that, you let the cake cool down on the counter while you tidied up the house. You opened up a window to let the room air out, and went upstairs to take a shower and get ready for your dinner date already. That way you could focus on cake decorating until Izo got home, and leave for the restaurant whenever he was ready, You didn’t want him to have to wait for you.
You put on your favorite music while washing up, loudly singing along and already imagining what the evening was going to be like. You were getting excited when-
You heard some noises downstairs, and even though the shower was running hot, you suddenly got cold shivers.
You then heard some yelling, and were ready to panic until you recognized the voice.
“Izo?” you walked downstairs carefully, nothing but a towel wrapped around your frame, still dripping wet, being careful not to slip.
“Y/n?” You sighed in relief when you realized it was in fact Izo who had come home much earlier than anticipated. Your relief was short lived when you realized your surprise was a little ruined now, and then replaced by worry when you saw his face, confused and not at all the way you had expected him to look when he saw what you were preparing.
“What was that sound?” You walked up to him, giving him a brief kiss, whispering a happy birthday against his lips.
“Well… I will assume you were preparing a surprise for me?” You nodded, and he chuckled.
“Did you by any chance leave food out and a window open?”
You closed your eyes, cursing as you realized what had probably happened.
“I think the neighborhood cat was just as surprised as you were to find me home early.”
You walked into the kitchen with him, only to find little pawprints in frosting all over, and the cake that was cooling down ruined with tooth marks and paw- and clawprints and more frosting smeared all over. At the very least it looked like the creature hadn’t ingested too much, so you were sure it would be fine. You looked over at the table, relieved to see that at least your gift setup wasn’t bothered by the cake thief either.
Still, your relief was replaced with sadness, as you did put in all the effort. You felt your bottom lip tremble as you took in the view, only to be pulled out of your thoughts by a strong arm around your waist. Izo pulled you into his side, chuckling softly.
“I wanted to surprise you. You seemed a little deflated that I didn’t want to celebrate beyond going out for dinner, so I wanted to see if we could maybe have a fun afternoon. I got off a little early, only to see that you were preparing something as well”
You nodded.
“It was going to be a strawberry cake, your favorite”
“Does that mean you have fresh strawberries in the fridge?” You didn’t see it, but you could hear the smile in his voice.
“Yes”, you smiled as well.
“And you got my favorite flowers,” he said, walking up to the table, taking you along with him with one arm still wrapped around your waist, the other softly touching the flowers, studying the arrangement. You looked at his face, admiring him instead of the flowers.
“Thank you.”
He turned to you before even opening the card or the present, and you smiled, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed about the whole situation: the failed surprise, the mess that the kitchen was, the fact that you were not ready, standing there shivering in your towel.
“You’re welcome, I wish it was mo-”
He shushed you with another kiss, effectively taking away most of your worries and otherwise negative feelings. He had that effect on you, immediately making you feel better with nothing but a loving gesture.
"It's perfect”
You had no choice but to replace your frown with a smile as well.
“let me get dressed then, and then… we’ll celebrate”
"And maybe clean up a little as well"
Hayho Sniggy! I would love to request a scenario or Headcanons for Izo and his female partner, some romantic fluff please! How would there relationship look like? Or maybe you want to add something with promt idea "(heavy) make out"?
Thanks a lot!! (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Hey! Thank you so much for requesting again! I've never put too much thought into Izo and honestly I'm not quite sure if I portrayed him correctly but here it is anyway....😶 hope you like it!
Warning: none, just some making out...
Pairing: Izo x female reader
Word count: 1.2k
Izo was standing on deck of the Moby Dick, hands resting against the railing and his eyes looking into the distance, nothing in particular in sight. He was thinking about the war that was soon to begin. Once they made it to the Marine Headquarters there was no going back. He wasn’t particularly nervous about the fight itself; he was more afraid what might happen if they couldn’t save Ace. He was more than willing to die in battle if it meant protecting one of his family but this didn’t mean he would run into battle headless and without a plan. Saving Ace was the priority, fighting came secondary.
You watched him from the distance; by now, you could read him like an open book. And you knew he was tense because of what probably would go down in a couple of days from now. Slowly, you stepped closer, approaching him from behind and loosely wrapping your arms around his torso, resting your head against his back.
“Y/n.” he said, not sounding surprised. He probably already knew you’ve been there the whole time. “I know it sounds stupid but you shouldn’t stress too much over the war right now. Worrying will only make you more tense and once the time comes and we have to fight you will be lacking concentration.” You said, quietly inhaling his scent.
“It is a stupid thing to say but I guess you’re right.” He chuckled. You felt how some of his tension slowly wore off but not entirely. Izo turned around in your embrace and wrapped his arms around your body in return, looking down at you with a small smile. “I think you need to focus your mind on something else.” You smiled back, resting your head against his shoulder now. He started stroking your back, resting his chin on the top of your head.
“What were you thinking about?” you heard him ask and the smile turned a little bit wider though he couldn’t see it. “You could give me a massage…” you giggled and now he had to laugh. “I massage you? I thought I was supposed to take my mind off this coming war.” He complained half-heartedly. “ You lifted your head, looking at him with a cheeky smile. “Well, this way you can focus on massaging me and I can tell you some nice stories….” You tried to coax him into agreeing.
He sighed but didn’t sound annoyed or anything. Maybe, this was exactly what he needed. After all, you always managed to make him feel more at ease. So, he followed you to the bedroom (you were lucky enough that you had a room for just the two of you and didn’t have to share), you took off your shirt and laid down on your stomach on the bed, arms already crossed underneath your chin.
Izo slowly got closer, taking his sandals off, lifting his kimono a little and sitting down on your butt in a straddling position. “So,” he put his hands on your shoulders and started massaging them expertly, looking down at your content form. “what story can you tell me?” he asked, enjoying how your skin felt under his touch.
“Well…I could tell you this one time where I accidentally pushed this old man into the ocean and ran away. Or maybe about this one time, in summer camp, where I punched this kid who dared me to do it. Or maybe this one time where I mistook this homeless, fat, and drunk grandpa for Blackbeard….” You tensed, realizing that Blackbeard was a sensitive topic but apparently Izo didn’t seem to mind too much, even chuckling at this story. Maybe he liked hearing you rant about this man since he was nothing more than a rat….
“Tell me the story about how you fell in love with me.” He said instead, his hands moving down your back, pressing down on one of your knots. “Again? But I’ve already told you multiple times. But you’ve never told me how you fell in love with me!” you complained. “Oh, so now I have to massage you and tell you a story?” he chuckled but complied anyway.
“Fine.” You closed your eyes, enjoying how his hands worked your back, making you feel all relaxed and good.
“Ever since you asked Whitebeard to join out crew I couldn’t take my eyes off of you.” He started, caressing your sides, making you sigh. “You looked so self-assured and had this aura around you that made everybody be drawn towards you. Even though you were always center of attention you didn’t actually seek it. You don’t exploit the people around you; rather on the contrary. You make everybody around you feel good and I couldn’t help but be enticed by your whole demeanor.
But when I really realized that I might be more into you than just admiration was the moment you asked me to help you improve your sword skills and how passionate you were about it. I like people with a strong sense of commitment and the way you committed to our training and the crew in general really got to me.” He told you and you bit your lip at his confession. This was way before he actually confessed to you and the realization that he’s been into you this whole time made the butterflies in your stomach go wild.
“And then you waited this whole time to actually confess?” you whispered, feeling moved by his story. “Well, I had to make sure you were feeling the same…” he replied, his hands coming back up to your neck. “And I had to make sure weren’t just pretending. You can never be careful enough…” he admitted, probably referring to Blackbeard.
You moved underneath him, making him lift his body a little in surprise and turned around, now facing him. You eyes were looking straight into his wonderful ones and you gently grabbed the back of his neck, pulling him closer to your face.
“I love you.” You whispered, looking at him in earnest. “And I couldn’t be happier to be with you.” You added, making Izo smile at your words. “I love you too, Y/n.”
His lips captured yours in a gentle kiss, his hands placed on either side of your face, holding it while stroking your skin with his thumbs. You reciprocate the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck completely and pulling him closer, enjoying the way he made you feel. Over time, the kiss turned a little more heated, his tongue asking for permission to ravish your mouth and you granted, letting him explore your wet cave after rubbing your tongue against his.
You pressed your hips up against his, slowly but surely getting aroused by just this kiss and he seemed to feel the same. Panting, you broke the kiss, looking each other into the eyes and without uttering another single word, your lips crashed again and your hands wandered over each other’s bodies. You’ve accomplished your mission – Izo was not thinking about the coming war anymore. And you wanted to keep it this way for as long as possible.
Marco, Thatch, Vista, Izo when their crush has an argument with her boyfriend
-Marco is like one of the best characters for this
-he won’t go straight to you when he sees you’re upset but he’ll find you in a few minutes after he’s collected a few snacks and/or drinks
-he’ll sit with you and urge you to talk about it because it helps, if you don’t want to say anything he won’t make you
-he lets you put your head on his shoulder
-fall asleep if you want to, he’s fine with that
-he’s also one who will bluntly compliment you
-“you’re an amazing person” “I thought you looked beautiful” “you’re the candle in a dark room” “your smile lights up the room” “being around you is the best part of my day”
-he’ll also throw in a “he shouldn’t of done that” “you don’t deserve to be treated like that” “you deserve someone better” ”he’s wrong about that”
-if it weren’t under such disheartening circumstances he would be loving this, but he hated that it was because you were upset that you had come to him
-I mean don’t get him wrong he loves taht you trust him enough and feel comfortable enough with him to seek comfort, but if you were happy he could be happy
-he’ll offer whatever input he has if you want it
-if you want to stay away from your boyfriend Marco is more than happy to help
-he becomes passive aggressive towards your boyfriend, not that he wasn’t before, but it’s slightly more noticable
-he’s not trying to hide it when your boyfriend comes to get you
-equally prepared and panicked
-you’re having trouble with your boyfriend? could this lead to a breakup? you’re crying?! you need comforting? from me?!
-it’s go time
-he has a tray of cookies ready and he’ll lead you into the kitchen with his hands on your shoulders and your back against his chest because he wanted to provide comfort while he was walking with you
-he can’t stand seeing you cry, he’ll crouch down to your height and take your hands away from your face and say “don’t cry darling” with the sweetest smile
-he’s sooo up for trash talking your boyfriend, though his insults are more funny because he’s trying to make you laugh
-if you need to talk about it he’s ready
-if you need someone to just hold you he is extra ready
-he’ll gently stroke your hair and whisper reassurance
-another one for blunt compliments
-”you’re stunning” “you even look beautiful when you cry” “I would do anything to see you smile again”
-definitely says “you deserve someone better”
-depending on how upset you are and what mood Thatch is in, he might go in and have a talk with your boyfriend, reprimanding him and scolding him for making you so sad
-Vista is sooooo ready for physical comfort, hugs, kisses, you name it
-when he sees you crying/upset he takes your hand and hold in gently with both of his, asking “darling, whats wrong?”
-he’ll most likely comfort you with a long warm hug, he’s great at hugging
-after that he’d sit dowwn with youand try to distract you with something else, like making some rose petals appear or giving you a whole bouquet
-he doesn’t care if your boyfriend walks in on that
-he is gentleman and always super sweet especially to you, but I think his insults can be fairly raunchy and he’s so not against insulting your boyfriend
-”he smells like that one time Ace passed out in the fish for 7 hours” “[bf/n] can shit in his hand and slap himself” “the only thing he thinks is beautiful are his own balls, so you shouldn’t pay a single drop of attention to anything he says”
-compliments, he gives you compliments daily too so of course he’s gonna bring them out now
-”you’re stunning” “has anyone ever told you that you put the sun to shame” “do you have any idea how gorgeous you look even when you’re crying”
-he will be extra intimidating when he sees your boyfriend, maybe even a growl if he’s real mad
-he does that on the daily as well, but instead of impressing you this time it’s to scare your boyfriend
-he’ll kiss your hand as a way of goodbye in front of your boyfriend
-and when it’s just the two men left alone Vista will bend over so his eye level is just a head taller than your boyfriend’s and he’ll insult him and warn him not to upset you again or he’ll come steal you away
-as furious as he is that your boyfriend made you cry, comforting you comes first
-he hides his anger really well when it comes to your boyfriend because he doesn’t want to upset you further
-he’ll take you away from your boyfriend if necessary
-the two of you will likely end up sitting on Izo’s bed and Izo has his arms around you gently rubbing your back
-he’s more of the type to say things like “he shouldn’t have done that” “you don’t deserve to be treated like that” “you deserve someone who will treat you right”
-if your boyfriend insulted you at all Izo will definitely cimpliment you to cheer you up, though his are usually less bold than the others’
-he says you need to eat something so he’ll leave momentarily and bring back a little tray of food from Thatch
-after you’re done eating he’ll suggest you take a nap so he leans back in his bed and blushes brightly when you lean back against his chest and snuggle against him
-your boyfriend ends up coming in to find you and he sees you curled against Izo who has one arm around your waist while he strokes your hair
-he gives a death/warning glare to your boyfriend, not even moving to make you get off him
-there’s no smugness in/on Izo because if though he is with his crush and his boyfriend has to watch instead of the other way around, Izo’s main focus is making sure you’re cheered up
This was requested by @girlofmiricalstoshi in DM a good while ago now. The request was a scenario where Ace and Thatch tried to help Izo to confess to a lady that works in a tea shop. I made it a modern AU, I hope that’s ok! Enjoy! 💖
Once again, Izo stood in front of the local tea shop with his colleagues during their break. He had dragged Ace and Thatch here before.
It started when the younger men wanted to go to a coffee shop during their first break together, when Izo started training them. Izo instantly rejected the idea, saying that they had enough energy already. He’d probably strangle them if they became any more energetic, though he didn’t add that last part. So instead of the coffee shop, Izo dragged them to his usual tea shop. What Izo had not thought of, is that the men would eventually find out he was single. And so were you, the beautiful waitress. Izo honestly adored you. You were always so nice, your smile was contagious, and your voice was like music to his ears.
However, he was content watching you from his seat in your shop. He didn’t know you aside from the professional interactions, and you didn’t know him either. Expressing what effect you had on him would certainly be inappropriate and most likely unwanted. A customer telling the waitress she’s pretty, he’s heard many waitresses complain about unwanted flirting while they’re trying to work. He wasn’t about to become one of those men.
Ace and Thatch had different plans though.
They wanted Izo to confess to you, saying they were 100% sure that you felt the same. Izo doubted it, and rejected their ideas several times. And yet, time and time again when they visited your shop, Ace and Thatch would bring it up. Izo briefly considered not visiting your shop anymore, but he couldn’t bring himself to. He greatly enjoyed the tea and the small interactions he had with you.
“Izo? Hey, earth to Izo!”
Ace’s voice broke through Izo’s thoughts and he turned to the younger man.
“What?”
“Finally! Were you thinking about miss Y/N again?”
“Shh! I was not. So, what is it?”
“I think you should tell her. Today. Right now.”
“Ace, no. I will not tell her.” Izo sighed. He should’ve known.
“I also think you should, Izo.” Thatch added.
“Not you too.” Izo sighed.
“Well Izo, if you don’t, I’ll tell her. I think she deserved to know the way you look at her when she isn’t looking.” Thatch grinned, and Izo’s eyes narrowed.
“You wouldn’t.”
“You think so? Should we find out?” Thatch feigned innocence with his words, but the little grin on his face told Izo he would.
“Hey, miss Y/N!” Ace suddenly yelled.
Izo’s head snapped towards Ace and he felt the panic rise. He wouldn’t. They wouldn’t dare. He watched with wide eyes as you came over to the table.
“How can I help you?” you asked with a smile once you arrived at the table.
Ace made eye contact with Izo for a few seconds before turning back to you.
“You see, Izo here-“
“Ace!” Izo interrupted.
“-would like another serving of dango, is that ok?”
“Of course! Anything else?”
“No, that’s it. Thank you, miss Y/N.”
You smiled at the men and returned to the kitchen to make the dango. Izo glared at Ace who smiled innocently.
“What? I thought you could one some.”
Izo leaned his head in his hand. What were these idiots doing? Thatch continued to grin at him.
“So, gonna tell her yet, or shall we?”
“Fine. I’ll tell her.”
Ace and Thatch cheered silently and high-fived each other while Izo sighed. What had he gotten himself into? And why did he have these meddlesome colleagues?
The rest of their stay at the tea shop, Ace and That behaved very well. They didn’t bother Izo about you anymore, nor did they bother you. When the time came to leave and get back to work though, they patted Izo on the back and wished him luck as they left the shop already. Izo sighed. This was probably going to turn out very awkward, but he knew those idiots would tell on him if he didn’t and that’s the last thing he needed. He was an adult, he could very well ask the lady out without the help of people half his age.
He asked the bill and you came to him with it a little while later. He paid for everything they ate and drank, long live the company card, and took a deep breath.
“Y/N? Do you have a moment?”
You looked around the shop and saw it was rather calm and that none of the people who were in needed you.
“Sure, is something the matter?”
“No, not at all. It’s just that I was wondering if you’d like to go on a date with me sometime? If not, I completely understand and that’s fine, no hard feelings.” You didn’t miss a beat in answering, as if he was just asking you what kind of tea you had.
“I’d love to.” Your answer took Izo by surprise, but definitely in a good way.
“That’s great. You’re free on Wednesday, right? Want to go for dinner together?”
“Sounds good.” You took a napkin and wrote your number on it. “Text me the details, ok?”
Izo nodded and you said your farewells. As you watched the door close behind him, you couldn’t help but start laughing.
You had known all along. You knew that once he thought you weren’t looking, he’d be staring at you. You had overheard many conversations between him and his coworkers. The confession was no new information. In fact, you had been waiting for him to speak up about it. At the sound of another customer calling your name your snapped out of your laughter and went back to work.
This drabble is part of my summer celebration collection!

[a/n]: This one is so incredibly self-indulgent. The Izo brainrot has been intensifying again (although let's be fair, he settled in my brain approx 3 years ago and hasn't left). Still, I enjoyed writing it and I hope y'all enjoy reading it <3
There were very few ways to cool down on hot days aboard the Moby Dick. The sea breeze was usually your best bet, but if even that was just another wave of hot air drying out your skin more than the relief you needed, there were very few options left. Covering all windows to block out light, keeping rooms dark and at least a little cooler, and hoping someone on the crew would figure out they have an ice- or cold-type devil fruit was about the most you could do. You were suffering though, the heat too much for you after a couple of days, and you were looking for some refuge, finally finding it in your lover’s room.
As a commander, Izo had his own room, and that alone already contributed to it being less stuffy than some of the shared cabins you would sleep in before you became an item. You found him behind his desk, leaning back in his chair, Kimono hanging open way more than it should. His Obi sash was only tied loosely, and his chest was exposed way more than it should. Normally, that would grab your attention, but you were more focused on what he was holding.
There was paperwork right in front of him, neatly organized and stacked with the exception of one page, that he had expertly folded into a fan and was now using to give him some much-needed relief from the sweltering summer heat.
You walked over, kissing his cheek, too hot for any more displays of affection. You enjoyed the tiniest breeze coming from the fan, lingering at his cheek a little longer than you would have, already preparing some puppy eyes, but he was faster than you and smiled, leaning away from you for less shared heat and to be able to make eye contact.
“Yes, y/n, I have more empty papers. I shall make you one too”
