[ some nights, I think about writing some headcanons for my take on Izucchan. ]

[ one of those is that Izucchan actually started out with derogatory context like with canon Izuku's "Deku" nickname. I like to think that since Izuku and Izumi are spelled differently in kanji (Izuku : 出久 :: Izumi : 泉 or 和泉), the nickname for Izumi, "Izucchan," was more like... mockery to her calling Katsuki Bakugo "Kacchan." ]

[ not only that but I like to think that maybe Izucchan's been bullied into thinking she'll never be respected by honorifics beyond -chan because of her being quirkless. Quirkless Izucchan. that had become the connotation of her nickname. ]

[ it has a nice ring to it + it kind of parallels Defenseless Izuku from My Hero Academia's English dub in that way hehe ]

[ ...until Ochaco... I guess...? who is the first to call Izumi "Izucchan" as a friend? (because she thought Bakugo and Midoriya were in a really close relationship or something lol) ]
