Snowed In (IzuKendou) (BNHA Rarepair Month Day 29: Snowed In)
Itsuka just wanted to spend some time with Izuku. Mother Nature had other plans
“Of allllll the days,” Itsuka groaned to herself.
The unofficial, yet widely accepted Big Sister of class 1-B, found herself down to her knees, moaning loud and clear displeasures about the circumstances of the new day. She lifted her head to take another look at her alarm clock, sitting silently as it reminded Itsuka of the time.
Only ten hours ago, the orange haired girl couldn’t be any happier in regards to this particular time. After a long week of mind-wrenching classes, extreme training exercises and even a hands-on rescue operation, she looked forwards to the plans she had already discussed with a certain emerald haired boy from the dorm next door.
Itsuka broke out into a light blush and a faint smile just thinking about the day she had planned out with Izuku Midoriya, the resident class 1-A ‘Sin-namon roll’, as Itsuka liked to tease (given his typical quiet and shy nature but shocking ability to become an absolute force on the battlefield). She wanted to start with the two of them meeting precisely at 9:00 for a train ride for coffee, and the two would spend the day in Tokyo seeing a motorcycle show that came to Japan every few months, before heading to see a new, popular American Hero movie which Izuku had practically begged to go see (deep down, Itsuka wanted to see the movie too, but the look in the boy’s eyes when he saw something he liked always brought a smile to her face). They would then get dinner at a new restaurant before concluding the night together, cuddling in her room.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans.
Itsuka got up and walked to the glass-sliding door that led to the patio outside her dorm and pulled back the white curtain. As if every individual with a winter-based quirk become evil, The campus of U.A High was blanketed in at least two feet of white powder. In some places, as Itsuka looked around, the snowed leaned itself against some of the buildings, some drifts going up to the third floors of the dorms.
Once again, Itsuka allowed herself to groan exasperatedly, adding a sour expression to her face, almost to try and offend the sight before her. God-Damned Weatherman is never right, I swear, she thought to herself, recounting how she had watched the weather channel the night before, who’d practically sworn that the snowstorm would go no higher than Saga Prefecture. As it turned out, it made it all the way to Musutafu, all but killing any and all aspirations the girl had planned for a day out. The snowing had already stopped, yet the damage was already done
She reached into her pocket, retrieving her cell phone, looking through her notifications.
She was surprised to have not heard from him yet. She had felt that he would’ve texted something, anything by now.
Poor guy probably stayed up all night, hoping the snow would stop.
She sighed before re-inserting her phone into her pajama-pants, deciding that she would check up on him later if nothing else. She turned away from the door, deciding that the only thing to do now would be to turn down the lights, head downstairs and talk to--
Itsuka yelped at the sound, before violently turning her head to the source of the sounds, nearly giving herself whiplash. The orange haired girl discovered the sounds were coming back from the glass-sliding door, almost as if something were signaling its being out there. Almost instinctively, and for no other reason the try and stave her curiosity, Itsuka looked once again at her alarm clock.
Immediately knowing exactly what was now going on, she bolted for the door and pulled back the curtain, now being greeted by a floating, emerald-haired teenager, dressed head to toe in winter gear, carrying a large, bright, All-Might themed tote, strapped over his left shoulder, his cell phone is his right hand.
“IZUKU!,” Itsuka yelled, equal parts happy to see him, angry to see him doing something so stupid. She quickly opened the door and allowed to walk(float?) into her room.
“H-Hey, Itsuka, one sec,” Izuku responded before removing his shoes and placing them into his bag. He then proceeded to bring his phone back to his ear. “OK, Uraraka, you can release me now. And thank you so much again”. Almost as soon as he put away his phone, he dropped down the ground flat on his feet, relieved to be back on solid ground.
He was happy, but shrunk back when he looked up to see his girlfriend with her arms crossed and a face that said, “You’ve got some explaining to do”. She tried to look as stern as playfully possible, which fell short due to the faint tint of red across her cheeks.
“I-I’ll tell you everything,” Izuku said. “But first…” he started before pulling out a thermos from his All-Might tote. “...Coffee?” he asked with a smile.
Itsuka couldn’t help but laugh as Izuku explained what he had accomplished in the last few hours. After discovering the blanket of snow that now adorned U.A and Musutafu, Izuku set his plan into action, acquiring the help of his best friend Ochako Uraraka, asking her to float him over to the dorms of 1-B without having to traverse through the snow. He also employed the help of his other friend Shoto Todoroki, who’d helped keep him and his thermos of coffee warm with a new Heat Shell technique he was working on. With their help and a bit of luck, Izuku was able to make it safely to the patio door of Itsuka Kendou of class 1-B, despite her room being on the 4th floor of the dorms.
“I still can’t believe you let Todoroki uses an experimental technique just to keep you warm”, Itsuku chuckled, despite knowing fully that he was likely the only person she knew that would do that.
“Well, I had to keep the coffee hot, somehow,” Izuku responded, rubbing the back of his neck, still realizing just how silly and convoluted his plan was.
“Still,” Itsuka started, before leaning into his warmth of her boyfriend and wrapping her arms around him, eliciting a small yelp and a brightening of his face. “...I appreciate the gesture. You didn’t have to go through the trouble.”
Midoriya returned the embrace, wrapping one arm around the girl. “Why wouldn’t I?. To me, you’re worth it.
“Awwww, such a Romeo,” Itsuka gushed, before adding another light chuckle.
She knew her original plans were now FUBAR, but now, with her boyfriend in her arms, and about 12 hours before their curfew, she intended to savor every moment of the day.
