i kin izutsumi mainly because of her need to be understood and taken seriously along with independence. i don’t really see people talk about her like this as many people in the fandom just water her down to a cute silly catgirl and that is the absolute opposite of what izutsumi would want to be seen as. and i get it, as a person who constantly feels like they are not being taken seriously because of my appearance (like my height and strength and such) i can understand why she desperately wanted so bad to break the curse of her being a beast man.

this panel also speaks to me. throughout the story she wanted to be solitary yet her final decision was to stay with the party and fend for herself afterward. i think it was her getting a taste of what it feels like to genuinely be cared for that drove her to consider a more down-to-earth approach to living. and i get it.

it wont be too long until i find a job and eventually move out, and the sense of being free yet still being bound to responsibility has made me reflect a liittle. i interpreted it like this: while it is important for life to be experienced to the fullest, it is just as important to care for yourself so you can live life to the fullest
