Mon-El/Mike working as a bartender. I can get behind that. He has the qualifications: a people person, an enjoyment of making others feel good, only this time with alcohol and not physically, and once he actually learns the differences between drinks, I’m sure he’ll be a fine mixologist. Let’s just hope that the next time he mistakenly serves a drink, it’s not to an alien race that is deathly allergic to it.
So Mon-El finally wants to wear the mantle of hero. Excellent. Let’s just hope his suit doesn’t involve a cape. Since he can’t fly, he really doesn’t need one but either way, most of the time a cape is more fashion and less function, as Edna Mode from The Incredibles would believe.
Hell yeah, Winn! Show the baddies that nerds and geeks can kick ass when we need to. You’d think since he’s part of the DEO, they would’ve at list given him a basic self defense training. I know, his work is mostly tech and support but even techies need to fight at time, especially considering his line of work.
Dominators exist in the Supergirl universe as well. Dang. Well, they seem to have a special interest in Mon-El. They and those aliens at the end who were upset with the scientist played by James Urbaniak to where they vaporized the guy. I wonder how Roulette managed to avoid execution?
Seeing Alex and Maggie have their morning after scene made me want to throw confetti around in happiness. Then we got their relationship drama where Alex is afraid to be happy and let Kara be since apparently that’s when things go wrong. As an older sib myself, i understand concern for a younger sib but we can only do so much and there are times they have to fend for themselves. All us older sibs can do is teach our younger sibs as best we can and believe in them. Anyway, Alex and Maggie are still together and please let this relationship stay strong!
With the appearance and rescue of Jo Gunraf, now we have another alien ally. Yay for more allies but I’m still for being wary of him, just enough to stay aware but not enough to outright distrust him. Everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves.
During the scene where Kara and Jimmy are annoying Snapper Carr, that was the first time I could really empathize with the guy. There are morning people, and there are those that need a few minutes of peace before getting through the day. I was pleasantly surprised by his “Atta girl, Danvers” comment. It seems like Kara’s starting to impress him, I mean she even has her own desk.
Next Time: Livewire’s back and no power on Earth will keep her from vengeance.
