cool so now i gotta put 'fix it' in my filtered tags in ao3 so i don't get jumpscared by the appearence of a dead guy in a fic that did not tag the guy.

canon divergence where izzy lives is the opposite of a fix to me! i think bringing him back to life makes the narrative shittier! i am doing everything in my power not to see it!

Ok that's true. But CJ as Gaston and Izzy as Le Fou

this is tempting because like gaston, cj has the ability to get bitches and is a stinky man. i guess what throws me off is that he and ed canonically fucked, while belle clearly has never wanted anything to do with gaston. izzy has like, the patheticness of le fou, but his motives are more in line with gaston's and he is the one to call the cops on stede, much as gaston sics a mob on the beast.

so yeah, i think they could loosely pull off the roles, but they'd have to swap things around a bit. definitely more true to ofmd than casting izzy as maurice.
