Surprisingly, I haven’t seen much discussion regarding Jensen’s joke about AU!Cas and Misha’s ‘acting choices’ or any gifs for it (so I made my own):

Normally, the minions would be all over SM either attacking Jensen or trying to play it off as cute flirting. So I went looking and all I’ve found is a few bitter asides and minions immediately rushing in to assure them that ‘Jensen totes loves Misha, they’re bffs and more, and Jensen has praised Misha’s AU!Cas many times doncha know’:

Because, of course, Jensen only insults Misha to please the ‘rich bibros’:

HonCon? Really? Are they sure that’s the lie they want to go with? Because that con happened in November of 2017, four months before they filmed 13.22:

But all the minions at the con agreed that it was light-hearted and loving:

And Jensen’s praised all of Misha’s other!Cas performances in minion metas:

Because they’re total bffs, they’ve even said so many times in minion dreams:

And, of course, any discussion about Jensen and Misha is an opportunity not to be missed to spread the premium destiel Koolaid:

Too bad minions never seem to provide receipts to back up those assertions, and funny how they didn’t gif Jensen’s joke this time. (¬‿¬)

I get #anticockles you don't ship it. Fine. But I don't get your #jensenisanticockles tag. Because lol he is not anti cockles. I wouldn't say he is verbally pro cockles either. Other than saying he loves Misha several times or calling him friend. Without cherrypicking or taking jensen's words or actions out of context, can you explain why Jensen is anti cockles? - E

Jensen is an actor on a TV show. On every TV show and movie set, they all pretend to be friends and one big happy family for the fans because fans enjoy the idea. Occasionally, but rarely, it’s even true as with J2. When it’s fake, you can tell: there’s a note of awkwardness with each other, they lack shared personal stories that don’t involve work, they’re only seen together at work or industry events, and so on, just like Jensen and Misha.

You’re taking out of context whenever Jensen has said he ‘loves Misha’. Every time, it’s been a qualifier after he’s made a joke at Misha’s expense, usually a series of them. It’s like tacking on ‘just kidding’, which he also does (or shakes his head ‘no’) after saying he ‘loves Misha’. He also says ‘we’re friends’ in the same way, as a qualifier after making jokes about Misha because he’s found it generally keeps the cockles fans from going on the attack against him.

That’s not shipping it, that’s not even tolerating the ship. That’s taking jabs at a ship you dislike and getting away with it because you’re ‘just kidding’.

Now, take it a step farther and compare that to how he talks about Jared and his friendship with him:

By “we” I mean he and I.

We’re on the same team. When he wins, I win too.

He’s like a brother and I love him.

We’re best friends, period. He’s my best friend for life.

We were made for each other.

There’s a support system that exists between us. It allows us to create, it allows us to work harder, it allows us to love, it allows us to be open to people, and I’m very thankful that I have that with someone else. I hope everybody gets an opportunity to have a friend like that.

Just a few, but none of those were qualifiers. Still think he ships cockles? XD

Misha saying “actually, I think I might have PTSD” from “working on this show”, aka years of J2 making him break character.

Misha saying “it’s so not fair because they don’t see what you’re doing” to J2 (and a crew member saying Jared has a “long reach”) because Jared was touching him out of frame and Jensen was telling Misha to “lock it up” like it was just Misha having the giggles (this is the scene J2 talked about just recently).

Alex saying “it’s getting worse, not better, that’s the problem” and Misha informing him that “hey, it never gets better”.

I remember when Jensen said "hot chick" to Jared,they said that he was talking about collins 😂 I just love that they want what J2 shippers have :)) They do that every fucking time..words out of context or this..Losers 😁

Exactly. All his comments were compliments for Jared and insults for Misha that they tried to meta the other way around. XD

oops i gotta point something out im rlly sorry but i actually do think the "you know this isnt misha, right?" thing was meant to be in compliment to misha... the fan said to jared (in the cas outfit) "You're so beautiful!" and then Jensen said "You know this isn't Misha, right?" implying he was saying jared wasnt hot and misha was.. or something... but in the end it was just a joke :P

Well, it was a joke, a joking insult aimed at Misha. The fan said “y’all are hotter in person”, Jared (dressed as Cas) said to Jensen “you know she’s looking at me, right?” and Jensen said to the fan “you know this isn’t Misha, right?”. Jared was dressed as Cas, Jensen was implying that the fan thought ‘Cas’ looked hotter because it was Jared instead of Misha.
