Jaciel *NSFW*
3D sprite for An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire
Art by Mark Jones
Character sketches to pass the time on long train rides. Working out different poses with Aziminil because I'm addicted to drawing her weird anatomy, then Clariel's full outfit (probably she's thinking about stabbing Aronzo with her small knife), then Jaciel because even though she's super problematic I still love her like I love all terrifying middle-age woman characters, then Belatiel with his bad haircut (about a week before Clariel showed up Denima tried to give him a bowl cut and it didn't quite work out...)
Battlespire npcs
I lied, posted this at like 4:30 am LMAO There's other battlespire npcs who arnt part of the 90% dremora group, but there ether crystals, weird ugly children, or old men (minus the mf whos disguised as ocato) I really like those depressed ass lesbians (even if i skip the whole section with them by just remembering the code LMAO) Though i do that a lot, because i also really like vorn but i just jump his ass without talking to him if i can 💀
For the character thing, Jaciel~
My first impressions of them
She frustrated me a great deal. I know you’re a great goldsmith, but GDI you could stand to be nice to your hubby & daughter.
What I think of their design
I think she was quite well done. Her aloofness was obnoxious, but never felt 2D, and the hints of her backstory were quite interesting. I love that Nix included that she was a berserker, but hid it from Clariel. Overall I thought she was quite interesting.
What I think of their role in the story
She was an interesting mirror to Clariel. Like her daughter, she’s very focused on just doing one thing (goldworking vs. living in the woods and tending to animals), though unlike Clariel she’s strongly tied to custom, which ends up hurting her family. Her interactions with Klip & Aronzo were also quite well done, as was her dramatic demise. She’s also a nice hint that wallmakers may well have existed after the creation of the wall and before Sam, unbeknownst to anyone.
What I think of their interactions with other characters
The bulk of the interaction we see is with Clariel and I’ve already touched on that. To recap though, I enjoyed the similarities between her and Clariel, as well as the points where it seems Clariel learned from her mother’s mistakes (not that Jaciel sees them as mistakes.)
My favourite aspect of the character overall
Her commitment to pursuing what she’s good at.
What could have been improved or changed with regards to the character
I would have liked to have seen a little bit more of her past, maybe a bit more of Clariel’s childhood.
My number one wish for this character
I don’t know that I have one. I’m pretty satisfied with how her story ended (I mean I was sad for her and all, but it made sense within the story.)
Send me a character, and I’ll tell you some things I think about them
And if I try to get close, He is already gone, Don't know where he's going, I don't know where he's been
