Context: Rose just had a meltdown after a week full of headaches and believes this will be the straw that breaks the camel's back, meanwhile Carlo's relieved that she's got some struggles too because he was starting to feel outclassed in every way, and Jack's been her friend for years so they're used to it and don't mind reminding her that she's more than worth the time it takes to sit with her until she's calm again.

Pretty much none of this info is important to Pride's story so I'm just posting some doodle pages here. It's my comic and I get to choose the comfort character cameos.

I would info dump about all of them but i legit just accidentally ate mouldy grapes so I'm gonna go take care of that.

Yes I do have favourites and I’m not sorry about it (yes one specific favourite, shush she’s perfect and can do no wrong I will commit all of the crimes in alphabetical order for her).

When they were teenagers, Rose taught Jack all of her favourite dance moves and routines. Back then, it was rare to see her genuinely happy, so they took to the lessons with enthusiasm. Now a days the two of them can break into a Lindy Hop on a whim and startle everyone around them. They both had an interest in tap dancing, but Rose quickly outgrew them in skill thanks in large part to her near photographic memory and one video of the Nicholas Brother’s routine to Jumpin’ Jibe (one of her favourite songs) on YouTube. She had the whole thing memorized for years and could probably still do it on command (minus the jumping splits because OW). Jack wasn’t bothered by it, preferring martial arts over dancing.

Carlo isn’t as good with the old school dancing, but Rose doesn’t mind. She does mind, however; when he slides down a pole upside down at breakneck speed only to stop himself an inch above the ground because he likes the adrenaline rush. That doesn’t stop her from visiting him at work, though (even when she doesn’t have to).

More doodles, this time featuring Rose and Jack. 

Since both of them are musically inclined, they often spent nights together writing songs and coming up with acapella arrangements. Jack got her into Pokemon (her favourite is Litwick) and Rose got them into history. Her love of cooking bloomed from her very first sleepover with Jack, where they made bacon pancakes together. Rose is very much in love with them, they know this, they’ve talked about it, and decided to just let it be (Jack trusts her to respect their boundaries and Rose trusts them to treat her feelings gently).

I’ve had more time to write and edit Horse in a Rat’s Cage while on vacation and I got even more emotionally attached to the characters. Go figure lol. Expect more doodles of them over the next few days.
