Jack McKeon – Talking To Strangers This debut CD recorded in Tennessee by Nashville-based bluegrass singer-songwriter Jack McKeon has a distinctive style. Despite his being originally from Chatham, NY his songs are devilishly brilliant in conception. The recording has pristine production & McKeon’s rural voice is effective throughout. Lots of banjo, some dobro but nothing hokey. Both hands are…

Diamond in the rough: Renovations planned for local baseball field rich with history
Located in the farming areas of Upstate New York, Parkhurst Field in Gloversville remains a hotbed for baseball after 110 years of history.
The story of Parkhurst Field begins on July 12, 1906, as A,J&G Park, owned by F,J&G Railroad, with a game played by Johnstown-Amsterdam-Gloversville, known as the JAGs by locals. The facility had room for 1500 spectators and quickly became a very popular stop…

Odds for the Next Miami Marlins Manager
Odds for the Next Miami Marlins Manager

“I would go in the clubhouse with bat and (say) ‘Get your asses out of here!’”
Former Florida Marlins manager Jack McKeon, who said he had to lock the clubhouse and keep a stack of bathroom passes just to keep Josh Beckett, and his teammate Brad Penny, in the dugout on days they didn't pitch.
Back then, those boys weren't millionaires.
I usually have a level of suspicion for anonymous sources, but McKeon said this a couple of months ago, before all this shit about fried chicken, Jesus, tequilla, beer and videogames surfaced.

I believe ya Jack. I believe ya.
The Marlins are rumored to be after Ozzie Guillen to manage in 2012. But if they hire him, they can't fire him; and the Marlins like to fire.
Jack McKeon won't be managing the Marlins next year.
And Billy Beane wants to go to the Cubs.
Guys get carried away. Vogel … Volkswagen … whatever his name is—he’s lucky he didn’t have to face Drysdale or Gibson or one of those guys. You would get a shave and a haircut real quick.
Jack "Modern Day" McKeon after Ryan Vogelsong was hit by a pitch yesterday.
