Magnus on his anxiety:

I feel like if you woke up and learned you HAD to drink spit god blood mead to defeat a god so good at rap battles he famously beat all the other gods, to save the universe, you'd pretty fucking anxious too. Now, can someone PLEASE help Jack out? He really misses Riptide. We've gotten past "Single Ladies" by Beyoncé, he's just singing really depressing love songs now.

You guys wanted it so here it is. My Human!Riptide x Human!Jack AU

Royalty AU:

There’s a well known guild that raises and trains the best warriors in the land, called the Blades. They’re high demand and expensive so only royalty and rich nobles can afford to hire them.

Riptide:

-one night the leader of the Blades opened the entrance to his guild to find an infant on his doorstep. Realizing she has no one else, he took her in and so she was raised by the guild

-she was a fighting prodigy, the best of the appretancies and even some fully trained guild members. They called her Riptide, for she was unstoppable as the raging sea.

-Riptide knows her parents gave her up, her adopted father never hid this from her. When she asked why, he said he didn’t know. Riptide’s own theory is that they didn’t want a baby who was mute.

-yeah Riptide can hear, but she can’t speak. She was taught sign language and uses it to communicate.

-when she came of age, Queen Sally came to the guild to hire a Blade to protect her son after there was an attempted assassination. The leader of the guild offered her his best; Riptide. Queen Sally agreed and so Riptide traveled to her kingdom to be the prince’s bodyguard.

-at first Prince Percy was annoying, but then when he found out that his bodyguard couldn’t speak, he immediately asked to learn sign language which no one has done before.

-since then, they’ve become friends on top of Blade and Prince

Jack:

-the last person anyone expected to become a Blade. He used to be a bard for a nobleman, Frey, until he got fired and no one wanted to hire him. No one knows which Blade was crazy enough to take him as an apprentice, but he did, so a Blade Jack became.

-while not looking like it, Jack was really good. He’s done sword play during shows before so he knew the basics. Just swap a fake sword for a real one and he should be good.

-He went from apprentice to guild member in record time, taking his master’s place when he passed away

-known for being extremely agile and using it as an advantage against his opponents.

-to his surprise Frey, his former employer, was hiring him again. This time to watch over his long lost son. Apparently, Magnus Chase has been living on the streets after his mother died and has recently been found.

-Frey needed someone he could trust and he trusted Jack. Jack was still a bit salty about being fired the first time, but he accepted

-Magnus was interesting. He was a noble by blood sure, but he never acted like most nobles Jack has met. He was actually a decent guy.

Then came the day when Magnus was traveling to Percy’s home to visit his cousin Annabeth, who was staying there because she was the prince’s fiance. Jack came with him, cause making sure Magnus was safe was his job. They arrived and the Chase cousins were reunited. Annabeth meets Jack and briefly mentions how Percy also had a Blade. Jack thinks nothing of it until two nights after they arrive, he’s wondering about the castle. He reaches the courtyard and sees Riptide training Percy in sword fighting. The prince is good but Riptide beats him and turns around and Jack sees her face. ‘Oh my gods’, Jack thinks, That is the most beautiful person I have ever seen’
