Dream Chasers update. 66K and counting. I’m trying to get to 85K before #NanoWriMo starts then use November to hit that last 50k. I’m really happy with this book. Dreamz is my dream character. This book, although it’s the follow up to Chasing Dreamz, is written completely from Dreamz perspective. We get to know his brother and sister. We get an inside look into his problematic relationships with the mothers of his children. Woke up this morning thinking about music, John Mayer's music in particular. I like a lot of different types of music but there are only 3 artists that I know their entire music catalog like that back of my hand; Jimi Hendrix, 2Pac, and John Mayer. Mayer is my go-to music when I'm happy, depressed, need to chill, other just because. There is always something of his that I can listen to that will transport to the place in my head where I need to be. It's the music I listen to when I write, when I'm cleaning, when I just want to hear something good. Lately, I've been listening to a few different artists, albums that I really like, songs that have been on my mind for a long time and I can't remember the last time I heard John Mayer's voice or guitar. Something has been off in my life, like my entire existence has been off kilter for about a month. So, I sat at my computer to do some editing this morning, with my coffee in hand, and opened iTunes. My mouse searched through one playlist after another as I kept shaking my head. Nah, I don't want to listen to that. I stopped at my massive 11 GB John Mayer folder and hit play. Covered in Rain started playing and I closed my eyes. When the opening chords started, I felt the atmosphere change. I no longer felt like I was drowning. I no longer felt unfocused and uninspired. This is what has been off. This man's music has influenced every single aspect of my life since 1999. I don't find it strange at all that I've been feeling like something huge is missing from my day to day because it was. I'm just glad I figured it out.
