Stay The Night ~ Jacob Bae
“I really should get going,” you found yourself telling Jacob once again as you glanced out of the window of the dorm to see how dark it was outside.
The two of you were comfortable as you laid on his bed, staring out at the dark sky. His arms were wrapped around you tightly, not wanting to let you go despite how much he knew that you needed to get home.
You tried your best to wriggle out of Jacob’s grip, but he wasn’t having any of it, pressing a kiss to your cheek as soon as you looked to him and tried to plead with your eyes for him to let you go, only for his grip to tighten too.
He didn’t want to move as he stretched his legs out further across the length of his bed. “Why don’t you just crash here?” He suggested, knowing that your place was a little way for the dorm, and the weather outside was far from enjoyable too.
Although it was a drive that you had done late several times before, Jacob just couldn’t bring himself to let you go. After an evening together of lazing around and catching up after some time apart, he wasn’t prepared to let you go home just yet.
“You can stay here, I’ve got plenty of things that you can use,” he told you, noticing in your expression that it was an offer that you were considering, “and if there’s anything I’ve not got, I’m sure we’ll have some spares lying around.”
Your eyes turned up to look at Jacob, propping yourself up against his chest. “What will the others say about me staying?” You asked him, hearing a bit of commotion on the other side of the door, “I don’t want to get in the way at all.”
“I promise that you won’t be in the way,” Jacob assured you, “the boys love having you here, they really won’t mind you staying.”
For everything that you said, Jacob seemed to have the answer, desperate to have you stay with him. He couldn’t remember the last night that the two of you had spent together anyway, but tonight, he really wanted you there more than most other nights.
“I’ve got plenty of pillows, a blanket for if you get cold, and this duvet is definitely big enough to fit us both under,” Jacob smiled, convincing you more and more as he rolled you into his side to start wrapping you up under the duvet.
“Anything that you’ve not got to try and convince me to stay?” You joked in reply to him, shaking your head as Jacob shook his too. He’d had everything organised for some time, knowing eventually he’d be able to use it.
As you fell silent, Jacob knew that he was winning you over, squeezing his arms around your frame again. As much as you knew that you needed to go home, you just couldn’t say no to the chance of a full night with him.
“I’ll even let you raid my wardrobe to find something to sleep in,” Jacob then told you, the final straw that you needed to know that the dorm would be where you’d spend your night, never saying no to the chance to steal from his wardrobe.
“I’ll have to leave early tomorrow to get to work,” you warned Jacob, knowing that he had the day off tomorrow, and a chance for a late lie in with that.
“I’ll make you breakfast before you go if you fancy.”
“Do you know how early you’ll have to get up to do that?” You quizzed, but his head nodded back at you, not bothered at all by how early he’d have to rise.
The most important thing to him was making sure that he saw you off properly, and a good breakfast was at the heart of that. Although it would probably be inevitable that at least a couple of people would join you, Jacob wasn’t afraid of an early start for you.
A hand intertwined with yours as you quietened, with Jacob pulling you up off of the bed, dragging you across to the bathroom. He stood you by the wall as he walked in, opening up the mirror that revealed his cupboard of toiletries.
“Toothbrush, face wipes, facewash,” he told you one by one as he placed the items down beside the sink, “you can just use my toothpaste, I don’t have a spare of those.”
“How long have you kept all of these things?” You chuckled.
“I’d been hoping for a while that you might stay the night,” he shyly admitted as you picked up the toothbrush first. “I was saving them hoping that they might get some use someday.”
You held your brush out as Jacob placed a small amount of toothpaste onto it before doing the same to his own brush too. You both turned to face the mirror as you began to brush your teeth, trying your best to avoid each other’s eyes to stop yourselves from laughing.
“I’ll let you go first,” Jacob told you as he pointed to the sink for you to spit your toothpaste out. As you stepped forward and leant over, a hand tickled against your side, leaving you spluttering everywhere as you tried to push Jacob away.
“You’re an idiot,” you told him once you stood back up again, wiping your mouth with the corner of the towel. “I knew you couldn’t be nice all night long,” you groaned as Jacob did the same and cleared his mouth of toothpaste.
“You didn’t really think that I’d let you stay at the dorm without trying to wind you up a little bit, did you?” Jacob challenged with a wide smile on his face as you took out one of the face wipes and began to take the layer of makeup off of your face.
After the two of you had finished in the bathroom, Jacob led you back through into the bedroom, laying you down on the bed before diving under it. “What are you doing?” You quizzed as you heard him move several things around underneath you before popping his head back up a few moments later to look up at you.
His arms slowly lifted up, placing the blanket that he had searched for on top of you. Your head shook as you placed it aside, sitting yourself back upright, shaking your head as you refused to close your eyes just yet.
“There’s one more thing that I need to do.”
“What’s that?” Jacob quizzed as he watched you stand up and start to make your way across to where his wardrobe was. “I thought you’d forget about that bit,” he joked, reluctantly letting you take something from his wardrobe.
“You offered,” you reminded him, “did you really think that I’d forget something like this?”
His head shook as you pulled out one of his shirts to change into for the night. “At least you’ve picked out one of the ones that I don’t wear often, it’s a pretty old shirt,” he told you as you changed into it.
Your head nodded once your shirt was changed, “if you don’t wear it that often does that mean that I get to keep this shirt?”
“Maybe it could be your pyjama shirt for when you’re at the dorm,” Jacob offered in reply to you.
“I like the sound of that, having my own pair of dorm pyjamas,” you smiled.
“In that case, I’ll keep that shirt for whenever you stay.”
