Jacques Renard was on a treadmill, sprinting with his limp. He was trying to adjust to it, and had started from walking to the fastest possible speed that damn machine could go. He’d adjusted quick, lifting his leg up at the right times to prevent him from falling flat on his face.
“Fuck you, I can be worth somethin’!” he exclaimed, taking a swig of water whilst still running. He glanced off to the side, an old HYDRA propaganda poster on the wall: of his mother, Juliette Renard. Yeah, he was showing her.
The ringing of his doorbell took him by surprise. He almost fell, but stopped himself and shut off the treadmill. “…who’s there?”
