Day 307: Within hip hop these days there is a whole new type of rapper that I usually classify as “Turn Up” rappers (kinda sounds like turnip). I’ve worked in this industry long enough to understand there is a lane for everyone, so when people get upset about these artists because it doesn’t sound like the rap they're used to, I just kinda laugh. Jazz Cartier is one of those “Turn Up” artists who has managed to also incorporate quality lyrics in to his tracks which makes his shows that much more entertaining. Plus he’s Canadian and I always try to have a little national pride when it comes to our rappers.
