“…So this is it? They’re just going to get away with it?”

The question was blunt. Jaden was tired. The past year had been horrible, since her brother had been murdered by the police. He had been studying to become a lawyer, only to be gunned down after being pulled over for no reason. It was a common story in America these days, but that didn’t make it any better.

Dad sighed. “The jury found him not guilty. There is nothing we can do, Jay.”

She scowled. “Of course they did. They always do.”

He reached up to run a hand over his balding head. “I’m not any happier about this than you are, Jay.”

She turned away. “What are you going to tell Mom?”

He was quiet for a moment. “The truth. It’s not something to hide.”

Jaden scowled, glowering at the wall. “I hate the system.”

There was a long moment of silence. Jaden looked up to see her father watching her. Their gazes met.

“Then change it.”

Since all the stars has got me thinking about her character, could I hear a few facts about Jaden?

Jaden spent her early years in the Bronx, but later moved to Staten Island.

She has a good relationship with her family. Her father works for the CIA, and is old friends with Xavier. Her mother is a nurse. Her older brother Jamar, is studying astrophysics, and her younger brother, Jimmy, is a freshman in high school.

Jaden is a fan of Star Trek.

Jaden met Red when they were 6 years old. The Pendragons were invited over for the Bauer annual barbecue up until Xavier’s death.

She wants to join either the FBI or CIA someday to follow in her father’s footsteps. 

Jaden is ace, and currently has no interest in romantic relationships. She’s focused on her education. 

Jaden hates violence, but was taught how to defend herself and how to use a gun by her father.

Jaden can’t dance. At all.
