1 - 9 for Red and Runa!
Red
01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?
Red’s real name is Elysia, which comes from Greek Pedion Elysion, the name of the heavenly fields of Elysia, a section of the Underworld mentioned in Greek mythology. The mythological place name may have evolved from the designation of a place, or person, struck by lightning (enelysion, enelysios); if so, the name means “lightning-struck.”
02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?
Red is terrified of being abandoned, after her father’s death and her strained relationships with her mother and sister. She’s usually able to hide it very well, but she also struggles with not manipulating people into staying, one of her symptoms of BPD.
03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves?
Red is pretty damn proud of her figure.
04. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical)
Red loves how compassionate Lily is. She loves Lily’s eyes.
05. Are they sexually confident or more of the shy type?
Red is very confident.
06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?
No, not really.
07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)?
Red says fuck a lot.
08. What is, perhaps, their biggest flaw? Are they aware of this or oblivious to it?
Oh jeez, you make me choose? I guess I would have to say her anger issues. Her temper gets her into a lot of trouble, and her anger towards a lot of things drives a huge part of the plot. She is very much aware of this.
09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday?
Red loves winter because it’s the best season to fit her fashion sense. Surprisingly, Christmas is her favorite holiday.
Runa
01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded?
Runa’s first name, Valfreyja, means “lady of the slain” in Old Norse. Runa itself means “secret lore” in Old Norse.
02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?
Runa has a difficult time believing in herself. She is very unsure of whether she is actually capable of accomplishing anything, of whether she can actually rule as a queen. Her lack of confidence is very obvious, if one pays attention.
03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves?
Runa loves her hair.
04. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical)
Runa admires Shevon’s loyalty and determination to see tasks through. She adores Shevon’s freckles.
05. Are they sexually confident or more of the shy type?
Seeing as Runa has like zero experience, she’s pretty shy.
06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?
Shevon finds Runa’s love of romance novels cringy, but she doesn’t dissuade her.
07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)?
Runa says bloody hell a lot.
08. What is, perhaps, their biggest flaw? Are they aware of this or oblivious to it?
Probably Runa’s naivete. Her ignorance allows her to be manipulated pretty easily in TDI. Later on, it would probably be her sacrificial nature. Runa is very much aware of both of these things.
09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday?
Runa loves winter. I can’t really pick a holiday because I haven’t created all of them yet.
