So Vette has come along and photobombed the first selfie of the batch, what would have otherwise been a cute couple pic for @queen-scribbles’ wonderful Tragen and Jaesa! I am ALWAYS psyched to get to draw more Tragen.
To the person in gen chat, who paid me 100K to watch @sithsandstardust and I perform part of Helpless from Hamilton (ft Jaesa as Peggy, and Vette as Angelica)-ty. You made our night honestly.
More art by the lovely BardofSwells, this time of Astrid's apprentice and lover, Jaesa Wilsam~
I’m going to bed but before I do I just want to say....
LS Jaesa is the most valid
thank you for coming to my essay
I'm sure I missed a chapter but is your Jaesa LS or DS? If DS, did you ignore the part where she's mean to vette? And if LS, did you ignore the part where she tells the SW that she's in love with her? Head canon is a good thing. 😎
Thank you for the question! :) Jaesa in Viri’s world is technically DS, but not the extreme, sadistic DS Jaesa that is in the game. None of the DS Jaesa in-game conversations or story actually happen, except for the first one where Jaesa says hello to Darth Baras. My head canon is that Viri simply tells her that the Jedi have a very black and white view of the Sith, tells Jaesa she doesn’t want to kill her as Baras has ordered, and invites her to see for herself what she thinks. Jaesa follows Viri’s lead and ends up becoming a pretty pragmatic Sith, like Darth Marr or Lana. She’s more DS than Viri, but nothing as extreme as DS Jaesa in-game. And she and Vette hit it off immediately so there’s never any meanness. :) Jaesa also comes back differently; she is rescued from a trap on Yavin 4 after KOTET so neither the LS nor the DS in-game reunion ever happens. What remains the same as the game: Viri does kill the Jedi on Tatooine, but she’s extremely nice to Jaesa’s former employer on Alderaan (she actually helps House Organa with their campaign after the lady tells her that all of her troops were killed, and explains it to Baras as a necessity for the mission). She’s also very sweet to Jaesa’s parents, sends them to Dromund Kaas, tells Baras not to hurt them and tells Jaesa she can see them any time she wants (and she does). In the game, my canon Viri has LS Jaesa. She’s not destined to get the love speech, though, because when she does Ossus she’s going to kill Gnost-Dural (LS Jaesa won’t confess her love to the SW if Gnost-Dural dies). She has not done Ossus yet because I am waiting to see how 6.0 turns out, but some of her clones have gone through and taken that route,. Sorry, that answer is most long-winded, but figuring out what to do with Jaesa took a while for me. Neither DS nor LS Jaesa really fit for Viri.
Well, here’s some stuff about DS!Jaesa that I happily allowed myself to be spoiled on. I always go for the spoilers these days. I’m a bit behind, so I’m not sure if this is common knowledge already, so I thought I’d post it. Sorry it’s a bit hard to read.
I consider this less than ideal, but honestly, at this point barely care as long as they eventually give us LS Jaesa, which seems to be treated as a completely separate character, so hope springs eternal. I dislike that she comes back slaughtering the troops, if that’s really what happens, but really, after doing that to her (since I consider the DS choices with her to be awful), what, really, can we expect? At least we can let her live.
“You know, for a Sith who follows such a light path, you sure do look furious quite often.” “Do you ever regret your choice to follow me, Apprentice?” “Never, my Lord - I'd rather do good with Lord Angry Faces than sit idly by and do nothing with Master Complacent.”
