I wonder if AAPI month and JAHM are the same month because Asian Americans and Jewish Americans share the model minority myth
Let culture connect us.
This is a collection of Jewish artists & artistic works, particularly ones from Boston, in every cultural medium imaginable - animation, drawing, sculpture, food, music, theater...
Did you know May was Jewish American Heritage Month?
Yes! and I've seen things marking/promoting it!
Yes, but I haven't seen anything for it this year
I knew there was a JAHM but didn't remember it was May
No I thought May was just AAPI month
No I had no idea May was Jewish or Asian American month

HONORING JEWISH AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH!
by Danna Zeiger Dear Kidlit Community,Unfortunately, Writers’ Rumpus was not able to air this post earlier in the month for logistical reasons. For this, I would personally like to apologize to the Jewish Kidlit community, as I would have liked to have seen both AAPHI and JAHM honored together. There have been many community discussions highlighting the lack of JAHM recognition and awareness…

Happy Jewish American History Month! - May 2022 / Nissan-Iyyar 5782
Since 2006, in addition to being Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, May is Jewish American History Month!
This year, I’m going to be posting a Jewish history fact or featuring a Jewish person each day this month under the tags #JAHM 2022 and #JAHM 5782.
Week 1 - 1492s-1800
Day 1 - May 1 / Nisan 30
Day 2 - May 2 / Iyyar 1
Day 3 - May 3 / Iyyar 2
Day 4 - May 4 / Iyyar 3
Week 2 - 1800-1900
Week 3 - 1900-1950
Week 4 - 1950-Present
To celebrate JAHM, I wanted to share this graphic novel:
If your response to Jewish conspiracy theories is, "That makes no damn sense," there is a reason why! Here's how it all started:
1. Maurice Joly committed suicide, leaving behind copies of a thinly veiled attack he wrote against Napoleon III.
2. When two members of the court wanted to stir up anti-Semitism, they decided to forge a document "written by the elders of Israel" detailing their plot for domination.
3. Golovinski, the con-man they picked to write this document felt pressed for time, so he find/replaced key terms in Joly's text.
This is just the beginning of how a COMPLETELY fabricated document shaped the way that generations viewed and responded to people of Jewish heritage.
