The best part about loving both of these characters is that they’re both right. They’re both grieving in their own ways. Jake being upset with Eywa’s great plan for taking away his child, and Neytiri trying to understand what it all means. The the most difficult part of understanding, is where they’re coming from. Jake was human first. Jake lost his brother to a robbery. Neytiri has lost almost every family member to genocide. It doesn’t make their feelings any less valid to one another. That’s why this film is layered and complex. Maybe there won’t be answer to why Neteyam died. Maybe Neytiri will completely lose her way with her faith. Maybe Jake will be proven wrong. It’s not black and white folks!!! Grief isn’t linear! Also please stop tearing Jake down too. Thanks. His feelings matter.
