Do you like love triangles?

I like them if they’re done well, both love interests are good, and have a good shot ending up with the protagonist. A good love triangle to me represents a literal equilateral triangle. That said, I tend to pick ship less people are behind. Examples are listed below

Riverdale: Archie and Josie in the Archie-Josie-Veronica triangle *honorable mention=I liked the idea of Barchie but that’s pretty much dead in the water lol*

Awkward: Jake and Jenna in the Jenna-Matty-Jake triangle *sidenote-I ended up liking Matty later on in the show*

Gossip Girl: Serena and Nate in the Serena-Nate-Dan triangle *this is one of the few love triangles that I felt was mostly equal, I just like Nate just a tad bit more than Dan*

Game of Thrones: Jon and Sansa in the Jon-Sansa-D triangle *the chemistry flying off the screen anytime they were together, PERFECTION! Season 6, you’ll always be my favorite! This blog was made because I love Jonsa so much! My OTP! Yes, I know they’re not canon but I don’t care :-D *

In a earlier ask, I noticed you said you liked Jake and Jenna. I’m curious to know why you liked them more than Jatty.

I liked Jake more than Matty in the first two seasons because he didn’t treat Jenna as if she were lower than him or some pariah. He genuinely liked her for her. Their relationship was built upon them having good conversation with one another and becoming friends. One of my favorite scenes of their’s is the following dialogue--

Jenna:You’re having a good time?

Jake:You? I always have a good time with you

Jenna’s thoughts:  It was exactly what I was thinking. Everything with Jake was easy.

Jake: Everything with you is easy.

Jenna: Do you think things happen to us by chance or by choice?

Jake: In what way?

Jenna: Fate, Do you believe in Fate?

Jake: I don’t know. But considering you’re here with me right now means the universe is working in my favor.

Jenna’s thoughts: Maybe the universe was working in my favor, too. Everything was as it was meant to be.

Their first kiss is still one of my favorite kisses, it’s so perfect! Starry Eyed is playing in the background, they’re spinning as they’re kissing, and confetti is falling all around them. 

Season 2 was full of cute and tender moments between them. Jake stood up for Jenna and her friends against Sadie and it was then Jenna knew she loved Jake back. I mean endgame material, am I right?

Sadly I was wrong. She picked Matty and I was so disappointed. Even though as I’ve said I ended up liking Matty later on in the show, the ending of Jakenna really tainted my view of the show as a whole. Jake and Jenna’s friendship took a back burner, never to really fully recover. I didn’t like how Jake’s character changed so much and took a step back. I still wonder what the show would’ve looked like if Jenna had picked Jake, eventually ending up being the endgame overall.

Your Nickel Ain’t Worth My Dime

Jake finds Jenna wandering in the music room; Takes places on Thursday.

Jenna stared at the photograph in her hands. She was doing her best to keep the tears from escaping her eyes, it hurt; there was no other way to state how this picture had made her feel. She knew she shouldn't be sitting in this room, she knew she should be in detention but there was no way she could handle 2 hours of Zig trying to make some funny jokes or trying to bribe his way to get out earlier, she just wouldn't be able to take it. Jenna didn't even know how she made it through the day knowing the picture was in her purse. The picture was of her and her mother a couple of years before she had passed away. It was Jenna sitting on a chair with a pink guitar on Christmas day with her mother standing behind her adjusting Jenna's hand to try and play a successful chord. A tear finally escaped her eye and down her cheek as she put the photograph in her purse and stared around the artists' home room. The room of music and art, what was supposed to heal and mend the soul. Jenna had spotted a guitar in the corner along with a beginners book. She had picked up both and placed the book on a stand then sat in a chair looking up at the book trying to mimic a chord but getting nothing but a sound that she knew wasn't even remotely related to a chord.

Jake heard the final bell of the day and exited the classroom, making his way to to his locker. On his way there, he heard an odd noise coming from the music room. Stopping in his tracks, he stood in the doorway to see someone attempting to play the guitar. "Do you always walk into random rooms and pick up things that don't belong to you?" He said as he walked towards her. Jake took the guitar from her hands and started messing around with it. "It might help if it's actually in tune," he told her with a slight grin. When he actually got a good look at the girl he could tell she had been crying because her eyes were puffy and her cheeks were bright pink. "Jenna, right? What're you doing in here?" He questioned, raising his eyebrows.

Jenna had attempted to play the guitar one more time before she saw a shadow coming and saw Jake in the doorway. "Sometimes." she whispered before the guitar was taken out of her hands. Jenna kept her head down hoping he wouldn't get a good look at her face and the fact she had been crying for a while. She kept silent until he started actually talking to her. "Yeah, that's me." She said and shrugged her shoulders. "It- It doesn't matter anymore," She started to stutter and grabbed her bag, "This isn't my territory anyways. Sorry for screwing up the guitar."

Jake's facial expression was a mixture of concern and confusion. He could sense there was more going on than the girl was saying. "Wait," he said as she started walking towards the door. "You didn't screw anything up and if you're really serious about learning, I'd be more than happy to teach you," he continued, hoping she'd turn around. As much as he wanted to know what the problem was, he wasn't one to pry and he barely knew Jenna anyway. It simply wasn't his place.

Jenna had started to walk out the door before he started talking to her again and Jenna stopped in her footsteps. She took a moment to consider staying, usually a guy wouldn't give her the time of day unless she was putting out or had booze, or a a combination of the two and this was kind of refreshing. "I don't know if I'm serious yet." She said and turned around. "I'm just trying to figure some things out and I know like music is supposed to help with that or whatever." She walked towards him and wanted to ask a question, "So this is like a actual lesson? I don't have to bring booze or condoms or anything?"

Jake raised his eyebrows at her question. "I don't want to sleep with you, Jenna so there's no need for condoms," he told her, wondering why she brought that up in the first place. He knew the type of repuation she had as a Wild One but he just wasn't expecting for her to be so blunt about it. "Like I said, if you want to learn, I'll teach you. It's as simple as that," he added, facing her. "Music does help with whatever you're feeling so if you go through with this, I guarantee it will put you at ease."

Jenna had a confused look on her face. "So..." She paused for a moment to think and process what was actually going on, "I don't have to sleep with you or anything? You're just going to teach me how to play this thing and I don't have to do anything but learn?" Jenna had asked once more just to be sure she was understanding this concept of what was going on. Wild One's and Artists weren't supposed to be friends, hell, half of them could barely get along just being in the same room and with the way Drew had talked about Jake before she knew something had to be up.

Jake gave her a stare and wondered as to why she was asking the same question a second time. "That's correct," he said in a straight voice. "Do you ask every guy if they want to sleep with you or something?" The boy questioned, taking his turn on doing the asking. He actually didn't have too much of a problem with the Wild Ones, as long as they stayed in their lane. It wasn't like Jenna was an Athlete. If that was the case, he wouldn't bother communicating with her. Taking a seat in one of the chairs, "Look, do you want to learn or not?"

Jenna nodded her head still partially confused. "Okay." She whispered finding his behavior quite odd compared to other guys she knew. "Uhh... Kinda." She said with a shrug of her shoulders. "It comes with the Wild Ones territory." She tried explaining, not sure if he would remember or not. "I do, i want to learn." Jenna said a little too eagerly. "Teach me, please."

Jake looked at her and raised his eyebrows, "So you're telling me you've slept with all of the Wild One guys? Because that's what it sounds like... Not that it's any of my business." He honestly didn't care what the blonde chose to do with her body but he didn't want her thinking that he had only offered to help her due to that fact. "Okay, take a seat," he told her, pointing to one of the chairs. Handing the guitar to her, he showed her how to properly hold it first and then let her get a feel for the instrument before beginning the lesson. "Now I'm not gonna bore you with the history of the guitar, you can Google that. I'll just jump straight into teaching you the basics since that's usually what every song consists of," Jake explained, scooting his chair closer to her to make it easier to demonstrate. "So, first chord will be an A... So place your fingers like this," he began, placing her fingers on the appropriate strings. "Make sure you press down, not too hard, though but hard enough. And then strum."

Jenna shook her head as fast as she could. "Oh hell no." She loved everyone in her group but there was no way she could picture herself in bed with all of them maybe a couple of them but not all. "I mean in order to stay a wild one I have a role to fill and I'm sure that's how it works with you guys too." Jenna said making a slight assumption and then following his instructions, sitting down, and then taking the guitar from Jake's hands. The blonde was keeping her mind open and her eyes on Jake, she was really eager to learn hoping to connect with an old part of her life she didn't know much about. Jenna placed her fingers as instructed and strummed hoping the sound was exactly what he wanted to hear.

Jake cocked his head to the side and shrugged, "Well, I guess you have a point." Even though he wasn't big on the labels of the cliques and what certain things stood for, he couldn't deny that each person had a specific role in the group they were in. And that's what made each one complete. He was glad that Jenna had started taking things seriously and was surprised when she was following his instructions so well. "You're a natural, Middleton," he told her as he nodded, impressed. A few hours continued and he had finished showing her a good amount of chords and he continued to surprise her as things progressed. Looking at the clock, he noticed the time, "Alright, it's getting late. But you've managed to do an excellent job. Just practice your strumming next time we meet, okay?" He stood up and began walking over to his bag to grab the bottle of water he had. "You can hold on to that," Jake insisted, referring to the guitar. "I have a bunch at home."

Jenna had a slight smile on her face, not really knowing how else to explain her life. It was hard enough for her to live it but to explain it was a whole 'nother story. She was happy about her life but she also wasn't happy about the decisions she's made but she knew she couldn't change them and she just had to live her life. "I am? Really? I'm glad I have a knack for something." Jenna said with a chuckle. Before she knew it, it was 5 pm and she had learned so much from this little session the two had just today. "Oh shit, I didn't even realize." She said and shook her head then quickly hurried to grab her things. Jenna sighed and looked at the guitar, "my friends would kill me but I'll leave it here and come back when I can." She stated, "but I gotta run, thank you." She said and gave Jake a quick peck on the lips. "I'll see you around." She said before hurrying out the door.
