Can u do Jambu?

Of course! And to everyone who's super early, yes I will be posting Pineapple too. If future me is on top of everything, it should be scheduled to come out 15 minutes after this posts. I'm making it my personal goal to knock out most of the LGBTQ+ couples of the WoF universe during pride month.

Anyways, here's my take on jolly Jambu! There's one particular panel of the graphic novel where he's flying through the rainforest, and I couldn't get that out of my mind while drawing this so I just had to use a similar pose. I'm a big fan of Jambu's graphic novel design, but noooot really his colors - so most of my design process while making this was figuring out how I could adapt his pink color scheme to be a little more interesting. I shifted his primary color to be more orange-toned, which made it easier for me to incorporate secondary colors like yellow and teal. This was important to me because I wanted Jambu's design to somewhat correspond to Glory's, given that it isn't super easy to tell they're related in the graphic novels/books. I did try to keep some of the raspberry color through his leg pattern, but sadly most of it did get erased.

Jambu's main pattern is a mix between hearts and stripes - I'm not really sure why but I always imagined him with little heart patterns all over, even if it was never mentioned in the book or graphic novel. The patterns are most visible on his limbs and chest, but I did sneakily draw a few more hearts on his wing, using the base colors blue and green. All in all, I really like Jambu's character and the way he acted towards Glory, and really wish the books would've shown us a little more of him.
