After seeing the new video merc posted with James Alison talking about the development of the new 2022 car, I’m really praying and hoping they knock it out of the park… the anticipation is killing me, but quite frankly I need them untouchably and undeniably at the front of the grid. The way the FIA has abused their power, I need merc and more specifically Lewis (should he return 🙏🙏) to dominate and wipe the floor with everyone else for the next few years
Anyways here’s James Allison, can’t wait to see this sucker dunk 20 seconds in Bahrain
You Can If You Want To: Navigating Christian Faith, Conscience, and Matters LGBTQ+ - James Alison
What if Christianity was far more liberating than the culture wars suggest? Can the conflict concerning Christianity and homosexuality be viewed from a more interpretative lens? James Alison, a Catholic priest who is also a gay man, has been wrestling with the matter for over forty years.
This luminous and rigorous book dismantles the fear-based binaries which have dominated conversations in the Church. Striving to address potential concerns about accepting LGBTQ+ individuals within the church, James draws on scripture, tradition and his lived experience to form a broader understanding of faith and humanity.

Purpose of desire...
An almost exact quote (heard and written down years ago and just rediscovered in a book by James Alison): "Desire is not the 'wrong.' The 'wrong' is the misplacement of the desire toward any object that does not fulfill the purpose of mortal desire, which is to love God with all our hearts and to love our neighbor as ourselves." (James Alison, theologian)
none of us have access to what our story is; we cannot wield it, grasp it, make a presentation of it. Rather it means that, in the face of death, whether in its physical form, or in the form of its violent and expulsive dominion, we hope that we will receive an ‘I’ in whose formation we have begun to participate, once we have become un-hooked from our old story. We always receive ourselves from what is other than us, whether that other be violent, or loving; but, as we begin to receive ourselves from the loving Other, in the form of our empowerment to construct a counter-story in the face of death, it genuinely is ourselves that we receive, and the story really will be ours.

Holy Spirit at Work? – James Alison
In a penetrating article on his website, noted theologian James Alison examines the recent furores in the Church over matters gay, and reaches what he calls a ‘suprising’ conclusion. There is a huge amount of meat in here, which requires long and deliberate chewing (as always with Alison), so I cannot attempt to cover it all, certainly not after just one read. It is though, an important and…
