He knew he shouldn’t be on the fourth year girls’ dorm floor of the building, but he had to get this package to her. He snuck up the stairs when no one was watching with the beautifully wrapped box tied with a ribbon and place it at the door to her room before running off, hoping no one caught him. A letter with the poorest attempt at nice handwriting was taped to the outside of the box along with a bouquet of flowers.
To Amelia (One of the Prettiest Flowers I’ve Ever Seen),
I heard you haven’t gotten a dress for the ball yet. So I hope you’ll like this one. A beautiful princess like you deserves a beautiful and elegant dress to match her. Of course I didn’t forget to get some gloves to match. I think Cinderella would be jealous if she saw you in heels like these.
I’d be a fool to let someone like you go out into the cold without one of these. And let’s not forget these matching accessories: one, two, three, and four.
To every princess, there is a crown.
Happy New Years. I’ll save you a dance at the ball.

P.S. Don’t ask where I got the money for all of this— It’s a long, long story.
after a long day, amelia decided to the dorm with no other plans to attend to. she wasn’t tired and the other amelia was probably too busy to be bothered, or wasn’t home at all. she figured she’d be probably working on another canvas to waste time, watch a marathon of adventure time or something.
but in the midst of her thoughts, she spotted a package in front of her door. it caught her guard; who would bring gifts around after christmas? she picked it up and rushed inside her dorm room, turning on the lights.
she took a seat on a chair located in her room, reading the note written on top of the box. “To Amelia,” it says. she instantly rolls her eyes, shaking her head. “i hope you know there’s two amelia’s living in this dorm,” she muttered. after scanning every word, she was certain that it was for her.
without a second thought, she tore open the box, looking through all the contents that were inside. she brushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear, unknowingly smiling. she was probably blushing too, but she couldn’t tell; she was just so touched. who knew how much trouble this idiot went through?
i’ll save you a dance at the ball.
"i’ll look forward to that, james."
