keep coming back to that scene, in which Jamie confronts Roy about why he‘s excluding him in training the team, and Roy basically tells him „because you’re an asshole and a prick, and i know you try to be a better person and better teammate, but that just makes you ordinary on the pitch, when you could be great, because i’ve seen how great you could be out there“ and Jamie nearly tears up in disbelief, looking at him with this genuine happy eyes, and is like
„i can be a prick again? (i want to be a prick again so bad, being nice is so hard, let me be a prick again, come on, old man)“
he could very well just be hopping in place with glee like a five year old , just from the implication he can be the prickiest prick ever again.
so Roy has to pull him back in, because he will kill this guy, or at least want to kill, when he goes full prick again, so he says „sometimes.“ and „i‘ll let you know, when.“ and „there will be a sign.“
and the sign is just him flipping Jamie off from the sidelines, and Jamie’s face lighting up like a damn flood light after a second of confusion, because fuck, yeah, it’s be-a-prick time!
