Really a problem, guys!
But healing community is about holding space: holding space for love, care, reflection, laughter, crying, feeling what we’re feeling, dancing, screaming, sorting through, moving past, sitting with, or for whatever else we may need. Healing community is not about putting our problems off on another person, but about holding space for us to set down the weight we’re carrying for a while, and sometimes it’s even about letting others hold and share our weight while we do the same for them. In the words of one of the wonderful advocates in training from my class, “Everybody has issues, and [in this space], we’re all just healing with each other.”
Jamie Utt The Healing Power of Community
When I think of what it looks like to talk to young boys about entitlement, I think of a story my friend likes to tell about his professor. While over at the professor’s house for dinner, his 4 year old son hit his older sister. The professor pulled his son aside and asked the boy, “What’s the most important thing about being a man?” The little boy, embarrassed, said, “Being gentle.” Brilliant.

"I hope to build a world better than the one handed to me."
Jamie Utt, "The Wall"

We can't just keep promising that things will change and to just suffer through it. What we need is a make it better now campaign"

I struggle with Thanksgiving as a holiday.
Unless I don’t know liberals the way I think I do, what comes after that sentence has got to be some unintentionally hilarious liberal clap trap. As usual, I do know liberals, and what followed in this pieceby…

Want the best sex life? Just Ask.
Love this. It's terrible that this sort of stuff isn't taught in schools. Mindlessly telling kids to not have sex does no long term good. It only confuses them for the rest of their lives about one of the most human experiences. Without consent talks and healthy sex education kids (from my past high school, even) clearly learned the little that they do know about how to please a partner's body from porn and music videos. If you know how to ask how your partner would like it then high fives for you ! http://changefromwithin.org/2012/12/06/want-the-best-sex-of-your-life-just-ask
