When we took another driving break, it was by this field. I started drawing, and thought it would make a cute post card!
Before I realized what I was doing, I was already writing on the back.
Sigh.
OOC Context--Janet Drake makes a postcard and starts writing to Tim out of habit despite not remembering him.
Meta ahead
Tim’s parents send him postcards! Notice how he says mom then dad.
And how here, the card is signed mom and then dad. Considering Jack being Jack, Im pretty sure he would have written dad and mom if Jack was the one writing to Tim.
So the headcanon is that Janet is the one who writes the cards, and sometimes even makes them personally when there’s down time between place to place.
Another thing is Tim and Jack have a hard time communicating in general (despite their many hugs), and Tim on the other hand communicates well and openly with his mom (in tandem with their physical affection). So I wouldn’t think it would be strange if she sometimes used a more affectionate greeting at times when she’s not writing a post card on behalf of her and her husband.
I now have to lay down because of, “p.s. or the week after.” THESE PEOPLE SHOULD RETURN TO THEIR SON. PLEASE. CHILDREN RETURN HOME TO THEIR PARENTS. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
Although, it’s interesting to me that Bruce backs them up with their jobs being important in the next panels. That means that Bruce, no, Batman, thinks whatever they’re doing is of importance too. Because like there’s no way he would just say that casually. Or say it about archeology. Idk.
According to Owens, Gotham is still one of the most crime ridden cities in America. Petty thefts are down… but now there are new types of ways to commit some heinous acts.
Surprisingly enough, Gotham’s cyber security is one of the best? Wayne is not so bad after all.
I have my IV out, the pole is prepped, and I broke the glass from the picture frame and wrapped one end of a longer shard with a piece of my blanket so I don’t cut my hand. I’m sorry I don’t think I’ll be able to bring you guys with me. My hands are full.
Other than that, I think I’m ready.
The "nurse" should be coming to check on me any minute now. When he's here, I'm shoving him back into the hallway with the pole. If he tries to close the door on me, I can keep it open with the pole.
Then I'm going to book it towards the west stairwell. I’m trying for the entrance to the parking lot because if they start firing at me at least I would have some cover. But I’m not married to the plan, I have some back up exits I might be able to get to if I can’t get there.
I’ll remember the advice you gave me for when I’m out. Scream fire instead of help, point out a specific person to call 911.
