calamity is a wonder of a woman , the kind you'd see in movies where someone like lili would never be cast . they're so different , and yet . . . in other ways , almost exactly the same . both of them strong & capable , both with ever growing , ever bleeding hearts ( though cam doesn't like to let hers show just as much ) lilibeth sees through that , of course -- and wouldn't have it any other way . the world hasn't been equally kind to the both of them , and the outrage that truth brings is represented not with bared teeth and shouting , but the tenderness of her touch , open palm gentle against cam's skin in the candlelight of her apartment . not out of pity or assumed fragility , but simply because she deserves it .
lili never expects anything in return , certainly not when she was the one who suggested they have a sleepover in the first place . it's only natural that she'd provide a set of pajamas and a warm meal or two . cam's company in itself is a gift , curled up beside her on the couch while some movie neither of them particularly care about drones on in the background . her attention is elsewhere , more occupied with gazing over at her friend . . . though that word even in her mind doesn't feel quite right . what she least expects is the most pleasant thing , softness reciprocated with cam's hand on the curve of her jaw , guiding her face closer ( and closer ) until their lips meet .
@janedoez ― holding your lover by the jaw to kiss them
lili instantly melts into the kiss , her own hands reaching outwards , moving up cams arms and resting at the base of her neck to better guide herself closer . she doesn't hide the way her lips pull into a smile , soft giggle parting them only for lili to be bold and deepen the kiss herself . calamity tastes of cigarettes and the boxed wine now sat on the kitchen counter , something unexpectedly sweet & yet safe all at once . something familiar . when lili pulls back , she stays close -- grin still wide . " hi . " another laugh . " we really gotta have sleepovers more often . . . not ! not just f'er kissin' an' stuff . though i do like kissin' you -- i just . i like you bein' here . "
