Mission to Silas: Chapters 15/16 - "Holding Out for a Hero"

Summary: A prequel to Love's Sacrifices and Still Here Breathing.

In the days after Amy Bradshaw made her escape with Lucy Diamond, the two find themselves on the run. Forced to make an emergency landing in the county of Silas, Styria, as it so happens the rumors of Silas are of interest to the D.E.B.S Academy.

While Amy's friends are assigned to this mission, they are reluctantly joined by a girl doing what she can to escape the curse taking hold of her life. What they don't know is there are people waiting for them at Silas, including a coven of witches who have yet to pick any sides.

Now part of the Fog of Worlds Saga.

Author's Note: Good day/evening/night/whenever you're reading this.

Sorry for the long wait for those reading, this actually mean to be up during the summer. This marks a two part penultimate chapter before this story is wrapped up for good.

At which point I am planning to focus more on getting back into Love's Sacrifices and my new story Still Here Breathing; the latter has it's first two chapters up. The reason I'm holding of on them for is because I want to finish this story, and I plan for it's ending to carry over into the other two.

This is strictly the climax of the story, but everything else will be wrapped in the next chapter; it will also be setting up Brigitte and the Coven's arcs for Still Here Breathing as well as tying into Love's Sacrifices.

Hopefully, I can get the next chapter of Love's Sacrifices ready by January.

And quite possibly the most batshit battle sequence I have ever written. I named it after Shrek 2's climax for a reason.

Mission to Silas: Chapters 12 -14: “Before the Storm” are up.

Summary: A prequel to "Love's Sacrifices" and the upcoming "Still Here Breathing".

Authors Note: Hey, sorry for the long wait. Doubly sorry for posting only ONCE in all of 2024, but I had a lot on my hands. Especially when it comes to juggling different fics. 

Once again, I am doing a split chapter due to length, but the upside is I have one or two more to go before I can wrap this up. It all depends on if I want the epilogue to be it's own chapter. This chapter is also meant to be when shit really hits the fan.  

Originally, I was gonna title this as “Mastermind” after the episode/song from Helluva Boss, but I thought it would be too on the nose. But it was still a pretty big inspiration.

Now, since this is a prequel, I have been connecting this story more and more with Love's Sacrifices with the presence of characters such as Count Karnstein. We're gonna get more of that here, but some of what's to come will make more sense if you read Love’s Sacrifices as well.

Another reason for delay is because I'm not good at writing fight scenes or battle sequences, which this chapter is full of. On the upside, I am one or chapters away from finishing this story for good. It depending on if I want the epilogue to be it's own chapter, but I’ll certainly post them together.

In turn, this will mean I will be ending my hiatus for Love's Sacrifices hopefully in the near future, and will finally start Still Here Breathing - which I've been sitting on for five years and have just now started drafting. 

I may make Still Here Breathing a more “small” story as a result.

Chapters Six is finally up, and I’ve been waiting forever to finish this chapter. For those who give a shit, this story is crossover between Ginger Snaps, The Craft, Carmilla: The Series...and D.E.B.S.

So, sorry for the long wait. I've been busy with other stories and IRL BS.

Anyways, this is a chapter I've been looking forward to for a long, long time. A "Girls Night Out" chapter that also gets the ball rolling. It just took me a long while to finish some of the segments.

Originally this was gonna be the second half of chapter five, but they were separated for length issues. This chapter alone is over two hours worth of reading, so that should make up for it.

This story also has a small subplot about Carmilla’s vacation, and it was originally gonna be shown more...but this chapter is long enough as is.

Though we were gonna learn more about Carmilla’s history with the Fitzgerald’s 19th century ancestors, even having full flashbacks set after Ginger Snaps: The Beginning....but I’m saving that for the next chapter or show.

In short, I hope this Date Night chapter was worth the wait!

Some content warning: This chapter contains mild sexual activity and nudity. But it doesn’t go too overboard in the sexual stuff. They call the club “The Vice Pit” for a reason.

Chapter Notes: Sorry it's been a while, I've been busy with IRL stuff, and my other WIP's.

This chapter was gonna be a lot longer, featuring a trip to a spa and a nightclub, but I had to cut it due to length issues - and that I'm still writing through the second half - and I figured the first half was enough to warrant it's own slice of life chapter. 

There's really not much else to say about this chapter other than character building; we will get a bit of Amy's backstory that I had in mind for the previous chapter. As well as building more on Brigitte's relationship with the Coven (mainly Sarah and Nancy), as Brigitte integrates with a group that she makes genuine friends with.

Some personal trivia; the book of in-universe myths that Nancy and Sarah talk about is based off an unwritten Game of Thrones crossover fic I wanted to write, but never gotten around to. That doesn't necessarily mean it's “canon” to this "verse", it's nothing more than a nod.

Content Warning: While there’s nothing to graphic as far as violence or sexual stuff in this chapter, there is one scene involving Bobby that might make some readers uncomfortable - it’s nothing much, except for the mental abuse and gaslighting typical of Nice Guy/”White Knight” types that I write Bobby as.

There’s also mild “Period Typical Homophobia” in this chapter - this story is set in 2004 after all. We got Bobby - a character canonically coded as a dudebro jock from the earl 2000′s - dropping the F slur in passing. And part of Amy’s backstory has her father being a “product of his time” in rural Texas.

Other than that, enjoy the read.
