I think people sometimes overlook the wardrobe department in Lynch’s work but the costuming in the Return is so fucking good. Janey’s character is so visible in her clothes, like she looks like she was born in a TJ Maxx and it’s actually perfect

#and Naomi’s wardrobe in Mulholland Drive is probably my favorite wardrobe in any of the Lynch projects I’ve seen #honorable mention to Laura’s wardrobe in FWWM. Her all black outfit is iconic at this point #and Sarah Palmer’s outfits in the Return #there’s honestly so many incredible costuming choices across Lynch’s work. The way Janey-E represents parts of Laura, Audrey, and Diane. Laura's blonde hair, Audrey's red shoes, and Diane's assertiveness (as well as servitude). The way Mr C and Dougie Jones and Dale Cooper all bleed into one another they are all the same person. Just now fragmented.
