Little thing I noticed when rewatching the series for the 5th time…

When Jankom Pog is first recruited by the other kids to fix up the Protostar, he’s actually more interested in Zero’s makeshift containment suit.

I think this makes the moment where Zero requests that Jankom help them make a new body for when their alien given one ultimately fails rather touching. And explains why Zero would trust Jankem to do it too, not just because they’re friends.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the second half of Prodigy season one has really made me like Jankom Pog.

Like he went from my least favorite member of the crew to one of my favorites.

I wasn’t lying when I said that Jankom seems to be a favorite among the animators who worked on Prodigy. Here’s a cute little moment from the same Tribbles episode I pulled that gif of Maj’el from.

Now, this is entirely speculation but I have a sneaky suspicion that the same animator who worked on this shot also worked on some shots of the Denobulan Starfleet Officer back in Season 1. My evidence? Just the way Jankom wrings his hands nervously here looks awfully similar to the way Frex did when he was scrambling to greet the kids on the outpost. I can’t prove it’s the same person, just a feeling!
