Be Human. It’s so easy to gossip about others, to belittle them, judge them and categorize them into segments of socially construed ‘sins’ and flaws. They’re humans too. Just like you. Cut them some slack? You could end up in the same situation that you mock them for, today. The cruel words you so casually and unthinkingly throw at somebody might be killing them from within. They might have the brightest of smiles and the loudest of laugh, but they might be a total wreck from within, on the verge of collapse, on the verge of cutting themselves lose.  Stop being so ruthlessly insensitive. Stop passing harsh judgments. Stop taking joy in discussing the flaws and private lives of others, behind their backs. Try being more empathic? Mind your own business? Wouldn’t you want the same, if you were in their place? 

It’s 2016. The world has developed tremendously. We are supposedly the most civilized and advanced of all who have existed before us. Yet we lag far behind in the simplest and most beautiful of human traits: empathy, sensitivity, compassion and kindness towards each other – something that sets us apart from animals and machines, something that truly makes us human. - Artwork by Januz Miralles
