#ThisIsWhy #RememberingCheetahs - Latest Donation News! #Repost from @rememberingwildlife “With a picture which features in Remembering Cheetahs taken by long term Remembering Wildlife supporter, award-winning photographer @janvandergreef, we are pleased to announce our latest donation from the book. Today $21,000 USD has been sent to Cheetah Conservation Botswana for their work in the Kalahari, which is where Jan's image was taken. Also attached is a camera trap image of cheetahs taken by the project. Our donation will be used by them to monitor cheetahs (through track surveys, collars and camera traps) of the Western Kalahari landscape outside of protected areas. This research provides essential information on movements and behaviour of cheetahs in the region to help mitigate human wildlife conflict. A huge thank you to Jan, along with so many other photographers, for their ongoing and generous support of the Remembering Wildlife project, it is hugely satisfying to see funds go directly back to the animals featured in the books. This donation takes the amount already distributed by Remembering Cheetahs to £97,000 / $125,000 USD and the total distributed by the series to date to £735,000 / $956,000 USD with more to come in the coming months. A huge thank you to all of our photographers and supporters, what a team we make together! 🙏 #rememberingcheetahs #rememberingwildlife #rememberingbooks #conservationphotography #cheetahconservation #cheetah #conservation #wildography #wildlifephotography #janvandergreef #cheetahconservationbotswana https://www.instagram.com/p/CJbLlxbgF8b/?igshid=1e438hdrpttne
