I see you are collecting glass jars, and while I find them very useful I hate the lids they come with. They get stained, are not as durable etc. So if you know of any alternatives I can use for store bought glass jars, I'd appreciate it!
Ah you're right, the lids are not ideal. I do re-use lids as much as possible but after a few seasons of canning, I can see they're getting damaged.
I've seen people put a piece of plastic sheet between the lid and the jar, in order to protect the contents of the jar from the lid, but I don't think that would work for canning or anything like that.
Sadly I don't really have alternatives! Does anyone reading this know anything better?

In turning more of my kitchen storage from plastic to glass, I have found I do prefer to have plastic reusable lids rather than using canning lids and bands for a lot of day-to-day things.
This set is a half dozen regular-size lids and a half dozen wide mouth. A bunch of stuff in a drawer that is in bulk baggies is about to get organized. I’m hoping a grease pencil writes on these lids, if not I have tape.
