can't wait for when logan finally reaches his breaking point and has a meltdown and shows the others just how much their treatment of him affects him uwu
me: logan is so relatable
them: oh why
me, internally: oh just the fact that he represses his emotions for fear of not being taken seriously or the inevitable time when he has to deal with the pain and sadness, the fact that he doesn't infodump or talk about his interests because he's so used to being mocked for it or called boring, the fact that he puts everyone else's wants before his own just so that everyone is accommodated for except him, he constantly does things for other people that is never even acknowledged, and his flaws are picked apart so thoroughly that he's afraid to even show a single personal aspect of himself in fear of immediately being shut down or told he's wrong for being himself
me, externally: he likes books lol
au idea
logan and deceit are this incredibly skilled culinary duo. they have their own restaurant in the heart of the city, have booming business, etc. they make the best cuisine in the city, and most people insist the country, too, or even the world. they're a phenomenon not just locally, but online too; between local residents, food critics/reviewers, and just random people on the internet, they're a topic of interest. however nobody has ever met them or seen their faces. the only thing known is that they're two people, both guys. nothing else. their waiting staff and managers are sworn to secrecy.
the first time they ever reveal themselves, it's because they started a fucking youtube cooking show. (the reason why they're so secretive of their identities is up to interpretation, as is why they decided to reveal themselves.)
everyone is finally getting to know these talented, mysterious individuals, and they're just floored because
they are both extremely young, barely even adults in their mid 20's, and
they're both the biggest fucking dorks on the planet
logan is just a geeky nerd who wears t-shirts with science and math puns on it and is constantly going off on tangents about why certain ingredients mix together to create new flavours or about how important measurements can be in determining specific flavour outcomes. he has a segment on their cooking show that's just him experimenting with his food to make the weirdest shit possible, and has a challenge where he has to use really odd ingredients and combinations to make a good-tasting meal. these turn out well about 40% of the time, and in the other 60%, taste tester/judge dee absolutely Suffers
dee/ethan is another dork who is obsessed with snakes, passionate about the environment, and is always pushing using organic ingredients and home-grown/local produce in their dishes. his corner is really good about supporting those in poverty by showing people how to cook meals really cheap or out of the various ingredients that you find at the back of your cabinets. he shows you that you can make something out of anything, and good food doesn't have to be bank-breaking.
but despite their silliness and fun, there are also the moments where the viewers truly get to see them at their peak, when they get lost in the process and really get into their cooking. they seem to speak their own language, a silent method of communication specific to them, which means they always know what the other needs. a specific ingredient, or when to take over a pan, or exactly how much seasoning to add into something—they always somehow know at a glance. the way they move around each other in the kitchen is fluid, almost mesmerizing.
the way they keep this ease under pressure becomes even more apparent when they're invited onto popular cooking challenge/battle shows, the two of them somehow always a step ahead of their opponents and even each other. but it's when they face off against one another that it gets the most fun, because their talents are at an extremely similar level. there isn't ever an imbalance in the competition, because they both have an equal shot at winning. seeing them hurl plauful insults and taunts at each other from their own work stations just goes to show how close they really are. between them, they have more wins than they can count.
