So I know @jaspisweek was over, like, ages ago, but here’s my contribution for Day 6: Beach Day. It wouldn’t let go of me, so it took a while to finish!

All her life, people have been warning her about the two women who live in the stone cottage on the bluff. They’re witches, they’ve got scary powers, they’ll get you and turn you into a barnacle, Clover, so stay where I can see you!

“They’re not witches, they’re aliens,” her sister tells her, aggravated, but Clover doesn’t think aliens are as cool as witches, so she ignores her.

Better yet, she’s going to prove her wrong.

For @jaspisweek​, Day 2: Gemling/Family. This is definitely more on the “family” side of the prompt, since I didn’t even really know what gemlings were until, like, five days ago lmao.

Peering down at the blanket-wrapped bundle in Connie’s arms, Amethyst wriggles with delight and then - unable to help herself - reaches out and bops the baby on the end of her button nose.
