A long weekend in Frankfurt for a friend's wedding. Always struck by how well people speak English, and the shame of being so monolingual myself. Had a good time- good conversation, good food. Crisp air and spring sunshine. Getting to spend time with a friend I don't get to see often but whose friendship I've enjoyed for fourteen years. She and her husband will be leaving Frankfurt soon. New city, new beginnings.
