This is a portrait of one of the most beautiful souls I have ever come across. I don’t usually get personal on here, but this is different. I met Javone when I was 16 at my best friend’s birthday party. We bonded over a love of Tupac. He sent me a virtual rose later that week, and another week later he was my boyfriend. My first love. Fast forward to today- I’m 30, living in Brooklyn. He just turned 29 and lived in Portland, OR. He passed away 9 days ago. I haven’t been the same since. Cuz he was more than just my boyfriend. We became friends years after our breakup. We checked in on each other. He’s one of a few friends I have that it doesn’t matter how much time goes by- I’m here for you.

Now he’s not and I don’t know what to do with myself or why I’m even writing all this on here. Need a new therapist, I guess. I want his name to live well beyond him though. So say hello to Javone Derrick Fonrose, one of the best people you’ll never meet, but check out his tumblr anyways...
