Walk with me here for this headcanon. Sebek has jaw issues.

You know crocodiles are amazing at snapping their jaws shut at high speeds, but have trouble opening their jaw? I wonder if the same applies to Sebek. Imagine that Sebek is a massive teeth grinder, and that his jaws click when he uses them. Maybe he was training with Silver as a child, he hit it off of something, and it hasn't been the same since. I know his dad is a dentist, but the idea of Sebek just being his usual vocal self, stopping for a moment and closing his mouth, and just... Slowly, and painstakingly, opening like an American garage door opening. It's beautiful.

Jaw, Back and Joint pain/issue flags

left: a flag for people with jaw pain and/or other jaw issues, encompassing all kinds of issues one might have be it chronic, dental, deformities etc.

middle: a flag for people with back pain and/or other back issues, encompassing all kinds of issues one might have with their back in general be it muscle, spinal, nerve, chronic, deformity, defect etc.

right: a flag for those with joint pain and/or other joint issues, encompassing all kinds of issues one might have with their joints be it wrist, fingers, ankles, elbows, chronic, arthritis etc.

these flags are exclusive to people with these issues.

Why is sore jaw back

So a month or so ago my jaw starting doing this clicking sensation when I open it while eating and such. Like two pieces of hard material flicking off of each other, think your fingers when you snap them. Yesterday I asked the doctor about it. With an answer that basically boiled down to, yeah that's probably your joint, not much to do about it if it doesn't hurt and even when it does there is still not much to do about it. Just learn to live with it basically. (yay another thing to learn to live with, just what I needed) The only advice she gave is to try and not open my mouth too far when I yawn. To which my silly brain was all, sure, okay that shouldn’t be too hard. I don't open my mouth far anyway. Peace of cake. Foreshadowing: I. Was. Wrong.

Apparently the instinct to yawn is far faster than the brain connection going, oh crap, not that wide, NOT THAT WIDE!

The instinct to facepalms in response is thankfully easier to suppress. If only marginally.

I need to eat because I've only had coffee and I have class again in an hour

But my jaw issues are back and I can hardly move it so I cant really eat much without pain

Just talking to my dad the last 20 minutes made me wanna cry
