Magpie cooks beast meat and her sister Jay just works in a printshop and is a bookbinder (this is Magpie’s new cookbook)

After they started dating, Jay was worried Arsene wouldn’t like her anymore after finding out she is trans so she tells him expecting him to leave her. Except that Arsene doesn’t care Jay is trans at all. In fact he doesn’t care it so much Jay is not sure he understood what she meant when coming out to him.

Arsene and Jay were basically like:

magpie has nightmares sometimes which includes eating people who didn't turn into beasts yet, especially jay

cooking for Magpie is something that makes them feel important or useful for once and one of the comforting things they have in life so that getting twisted in the dream hurts a lot

the family didn’t let her be who she is but that’s okay, she left eventually and is now living with her sibling Magpie

and now she can do whatever she wants

Thanks to Marcellus Jay managed to transition with no problems at all. In fact he did such a good job Arsene didn't recognise Jay after transitioning at all. Or maybe he just didn't think of that possibility. He liked the young man who was very polite and had a nice smile but he doesn't seem to mind the new(?) recruit. She is polite and has a nice smile too.
