Hello! I'm not trying to sound pushy, but how's it going with the Chaos Dick series? I really enjoyed reading it so I'm wondering. This isn't me trying to demand an update or whatever! What you do is up to you!

Oh, hi, thank you for asking. What a good opportunity to give a State of the Fic update!

The Chaos Theory series will be updated - I haven’t abandoned it or anything, I just... have so many ideas I want to write. So, here’s what’s up with my current works in progress:

1: Jaydick exchange fic

It’s my priority right now, since it’s an exchange and I would basically die if I let my recipient down. Works are due August 9th and considering I just sent it out for first draft beta-ing... we’re in good shape :) Can’t say too much about it, though, since it’s an anonymous exchange!

2: Secret secret project

I’m writing something to gift to someone who has no idea I’m doing it (or maybe they do. It’s entirely possible I’m not sneaky at all.) It’s a long one, though. I’m at 47k and still going on draft 1. So this is where the bulk of my writing time is spent right now. I’ll be finishing this before I turn my focus to Chaos Dick. Which is not to say Chaos Dick plot isn’t still bubbling away in the back of my mind...

3: Chaos Theory

Mmm ok here’s my plan for Chaos Dick: the next updates will be a series of short one-shots to bridge The Breaking of Dick Grayson to the next major plotty installment, the working title of which is Per Aspera. That’ll let me get everyone in place for what I think I want to do (Per Aspera’s plot outline right now is... fluid.) and address a few character moments I didn’t have time for in Breaking.

I’ve started the one-shots, but I’m not going to post any of them until I have all of them finished because I keep surprising myself with certain details that mean I have to go back change things in one of the others.

I spy?

My JayDick Summer Exchange gift for @crumpeting/@firefrightfic, whose Talon Dick and Civilian Jason prompt, where Jason has no clue what’s going on, inspired this!

The exchange, @jaydicksummerexchange, was run by @pentapoda and @paperempires, and you bet that I’m going to post my stuff before the author names are revealed now that there are new rules for artists. :] (I’m getting so much love on the AO3 fic, I gotta give close ups!)

Bonus aftermath:

There’s a treasure hunt in Easter Eggs in close ups under the cut.

There are 20 objects scattered about the autoshop from various Batman rogues, characters featured or from Batman himself. Things like the Ma Gunn poster and Riddler poster count, so factor those in! 2 down!

I really kind of ran out of motivation to colour this thing in, and was getting close to the deadline, so some objects are just generic grey or one colour. Despite the frustration, I’m still really happy with it, and hope it communicates well!

Full screen for sharper lines (hopefully >.<)! Jason’s box of books won’t count cause they’re too fuzzy for even me to read, but they do all have titles on them!

Some things that aren’t fully coloured are objects on the list.

Jason or Dick or any of the armed men don’t count as objects XD. The tire iron also does not count (it’s part of plot).

First person with a correct list of 20 Easter Eggs will get a prize, maybe (depends on what the interest in this is, XD. It could be a trading card (with something batfam), I’m making some for my friend). Let’s say deadline is end of November 2018, and then I’ll just take whoever has gotten the most right.
