Any thoughts on why Max pretty much jumps at Chloe should you have her accept the kiss dare? Me, I'd say it's hastiness born of nerves and/or thoughts along the lines of "girl, I've been wanting to kiss you for the last couple of days".

I think there's a few reasons!

I agree with you that Max was likely nervous, so she decided to go for it before she overthought it. I also think the fact that she watched Chloe die 200 times that week contributed to her "fuck it!" attitude. There's no time to dawdle when your girlfriend has the same lifespan as a mayfly.

I also like to think that Max lunged because Chloe was teasing and saying she never took risks. So when Chloe dared her to kiss her Max was like "I'll show YOU who doesn't take risks!" There's not a lot in the game to back this idea up. I just thought of it one day and thought it was funny.

Ever had thoughts about Max Caulfield as an otter? (Just thinking about the dialogue between her and Chloe in the pool)

Their scene in the pool was one of my favorites, I needed to draw this:

Thoughts on the alternate universe Victoria Chase? I get that she seems nicer than the prime version of her, but I have to wonder how much of that is her identifying Max as a future photography great and trying to kiss up to her early on.

I think the way Victoria behaves in the alternative timeline is a confirmation of what Taylor says in the main timeline.

Taylor says that, despite her bossiness, Victoria is a good friend. She was the only one there for her when her Mom had surgery, and Taylor clearly appreciates it. At this point in the game, it's hard to imagine Victoria being a good friend because we've mostly seen her nasty interactions with Kate or her frenemy interactions with Max. I think that's why the alternative timeline expands her character to show that she's more than one thing. She's not just a bully; she's capable of being a good friend too.

I think alternative universe Victoria is a glimpse of the friend that Taylor knows. It makes sense Max would see this side of her on this timeline because the game states multiple times that the only reason Max and Victoria aren't friends is because of jealousy on both sides and Victoria's nasty attitude toward people like Kate.

The trait Victoria envies most about Max is how little she cares about what other people think. However, an argument could be made that if alt Max was trying to cozy up with the Vortex Club, she probably cared more about the school's social hierarchy than main Max did. That might mean that Victoria was less threatened by Max because she was conforming with the popular kids instead of doing her own thing. It's also implied that alt Max is mean (it's revealed through texts that she's thrown things at Alyssa) and she might not have cared as much, or at all, about how Victoria treated Kate.

So that's what I think is going on with alt Victoria. She's the friend Taylor has, but Max never really gets to see. Though the other interpretations that Victoria is sucking up to Max because she's higher on the hiercery are super interesting too!

Thoughts on AmberMarsh?

I love it as a ship. Not in an "it should be canon" way, but in a "you could never make a bad AU with them" way. There's just so many interesting ideas you can do with them. Such as:

A: "Rachel and Kate meet and are instantly drawn to each other. Kate is hesitantly intrigued by the almost mythical Rachel Amber, and Rachel is so used to hanging out with more intense personalities that Kate's gentle spirt is a surprisingly enduring change of pace.

B: "Rachel and Kate meet and want to study each other like bugs. Kate can't figure out how Rachel could be so unabashedly...Rachel, and Rachel can see a darkness in Kate that many much less observant people miss.

C: This is an angsty one so fair warning - "In the route where Kate jumps and Max sacrifices the bay, Rachel and Kate become spirts of the ruins."

D: "Poor Kate can't figure out why the girl roaming around campus in a nun uniform is so confused anytime she tries to talk to her about the Bible. Rachel has just been cast as nun as a theater production." 

Their dynamic could just be so fun because of how different they are, and that's enough to make a ship really good for me.
