Its not even remotely canon compliant but the idea of it is SO goddamn funny. Imagine your new man gets attacked and when you check the news it was your shitty ex boyfriend who threw a chair at him. I'd be SO mad. I'm imagining them angrily arguing in the rain and Luis confesses he wants Jay

But also, to treat crack seriously here for a second, you can imagine a truly amazing storyline here. Jay and Luis get together in high school, they're sweethearts, and then Luis's parents die, and Jay watches as Luis begins to both neglect himself AND their relationship. Luis, a caring sweet boy, now doing shit like making Jay cry on his birthday and picking fights because he has nowhere else to put his anger, there's no one left to feel his hurt with him, his mom and dad are dead. Jay Nakamura, a man who's built his career on the truth, watching his first love descend down the 4chan blue earth pipeline and never get himself out of it. Breaking up over Superman. Staring at each other across the battlefield because they've both picked their sides and are sticking to what they believe to be the truth. And Jon's just there like "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED HERE?!"
