This soaring Palawan Peacock-Pheasant discovers a radiant, shining star, shrouded in the clouds. The mist clears away easily as though presenting the star towards his grasping claws, and now the choice of what to do with it falls entirely to him.

The Ace of Pentacles represents new opportunities, ripe for the taking. Its reverse symbolises missed chances, so the card upside-down shows the pheasant tumbling from the heavens as the star slips from his grasp. I chose the Palawan Peacock-Pheasant as it is handsome and striking, with the males’ plumage having evolved for the chance to attract a mate - just the kind of bird who’d seize any opportunity that comes his way.
