He was an American composer and pianist whose compositions spanned jazz, popular and classical music!

Among his best known works are the songs "Swanee" (1919) and "Fascinating Rhythm" (1924), the orchestral compositions “Rhapsody in Blue”(1924) and “An American in Paris” (1928), the jazz standards "Embraceable You" (1928) and "I Got Rhythm" (1930) and the opera Porgy and Bess (1935), which included the hit "Summertime"!

Jaki Byard is one of my favorite jazz pianists. He can take you on a trip through history by playing ragtime, stride, bebop, and free jazz all in one tune. He's an exceptional arranger and composer as well as a multi -instrumentalist.

Paul Bley, CM (The Order of Canada) born in Montreal, Quebec, (November 10, 1932 – January 3, 2016) was a Canadian jazz pianist known for his contributions to the free jazz movement of the 1960s as well as his innovations and influence on trio playing and his early live performance on the Moog and ARP synthesizers.

His music has been described by Ben Ratliff of the New York Times as "deeply original and aesthetically aggressive". Bley's prolific output includes influential recordings from the 1950s through to his solo piano recordings of the 2000s

Martin Denny - Harlem Nocturne

Martin Denny (born April 10, 1911 in New York City, NY, United States - died March 2, 2005 in Honolulu, Hawaii) was an American musician. He was universally known as the founder and reigning king of exotica music, a type of big band music with Latin rhythms and overtones of Pacific Ocean culture that is largely scorned by critics but was extremely popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
