Jazz was appointed to a position as Prime by Sentinel Magnus actually. Sentinel took his job in the main office and knew that someone had to look after the twin brats so he decided he’d dump that miserable job on JAZZ

In order to take a mentorship you need to be at least a Minor or a Prime, Sentinel was feeling particularly generous in the moment and had him skip a rank.
Plus, it’s not like Sentinel was the one who kept on tampering with Jazz’s papers everytime he tired to requested a transfer in commanders.....or even a request to get that promotion as a Minor like he’d been working towards for thousands of years....or anything like that...... sentinel did we all fucking know it
Jazz of course accepted this role GRATEFULLY for the twins in particular, but also for himself. He’d had the leadership skills and training only since forever, his hard work and MILLIENIAL of holding his tounge towards every infuriating thing Sentinel said finally paid off.
Jazz Prime is thriving in his job as a prime and successfully but with a LOT of hard work bc oml those boys are high energy brought the twins up into the brand new positions as Aerial Commanders for the new wave of Flight Frame Autobots that came Cybertron’s way after Optimus Magnus’ reformation
He conjunxed his Academy classmate Blaster further down the line, and later gave the Jet Twins a sibling, Razzmatazz!!
