Ted Kennedy D-Mass. and a group of other senators hold a round table discussion with Vice Pres. Nelson Rockefeller on legislation to set up an Office of Science Adviser to the President.

Ted and Joan Kennedy call JFK and tell him the news that Ted had won Democratic state convention nomination for Senator, 1962.

An interview once recalled back to his first interview with Joan in 1962 saying:

"She was only 25 at the time, a sweet, natural, unaffected golden girl, openly adoring her husband and babies."
