"Are you talking to… The cat?" Shouta held his scarf in one hand as he shut the door behind him. He'd assumed you had company with how much you'd been talking. To his surprise he walked in and saw you talking to the cat.
"And why not? He talks back." You pointed at the grey cat with black stripes that was stretched out in the tower. He stretched his paws towards you and yawned. "Don't you act all innocent." The rumbling mrrp had your lips twitching.
Shouta hung his scarf up and watched. He was clearly surprised to hear your cat reply to you. "He can understand you?"
"Maybe not my words exactly. More like he can understand and associate the sounds with things. Take for instance." You turned towards the cat. "Who's a good boy?" The cat's head shot up and he meowed at you. "You are a good boy. Want a treat?" The cat rolled to his feet and hopped down while meowing incessantly at you. He rubbed against your legs and stared up at you with such forlorn eyes.
Shouta was impressed as you gave the cat a few treats. "I'm a bit thankful you miss the arguing." He crouched down and ran his hand down the cat's back. He got a rumbling purr out of him. It made him smile at just how much the cat resembled his owner sometimes.
"Well. He's good company isn't he?" Shouta straightened and leaned over to press his lips against your forehead trailing down until he could press them against yours. He sighed into the kiss when he felt a nudge against his arm. He glanced down and saw the cat on the counter, bumping his head against Shouta's arm. When that didn't work he put his paws on your shoulder and stretched with a quiet sound. It drew a laugh from you as the cat sat back down and meowed loudly.
"Did I mention he's jealous?"
